why do you own combat knives?

I own combat knives in case combat should happen to break out around me. Combat without a combat knife is like bowling without bowling shoes.
 
I agree with what 'greater' posted -
Most 'combat' knives are good utility knives.
For example: Gryphon M35, Blackjack Model 5 and Model 7 (like the Randall Model 1), any Ka-Bar fixed blade, and even an old (or new repro) US M3 Trench knife.
They all have been used by me as utility knives either around the house and yard or while camping.

Very handy indeed...
AND, if there is a zombie attack while doing the ol' yardwork and my S&W 686 .357 Mag is not handy, then that good ol' combat/utility knife is what's at hand...
 
Also, is it true that Zombies are back on the increase? This is very worrying indeed… enough of a reason for me to keep a good stock of “combat” style knives handy! Good job I moved from the UK, as no one is allowed them anymore… would have to be a 12” kitchen knife instead! :rolleyes: ........ Oh, would a kitchen knife be any good against a Zombie attack though?...... all very worrying! :(

seriously though....

I carry a combat knife because my two handed broadsword was drawing weird looks from people at the grocery store.
 
They're interesting. They are a part of history. They are an important segment of the knife market.

Aliens don't have combat knives. They ship their zombies here. We are under attack by Alien Zombies. They eat brains too.
