Honestly what would be better is a nalgene shaped one that is 32oz. The problem with the backpacker is the taper, and a straight sided one would be fantastic. Everything Erik pointed out is right though, plus no other stainless bottle is as sturdy.
the $5 27 oz generic steel bottles fit that bill.

I would love to have a guyot/nalgene 38 oz -- or a kleen kanteen 40, if the walls were a smidgeon thicker so it wasn't as likely to dent.
