Why dont we have a place to Snark?

Honestly what would be better is a nalgene shaped one that is 32oz. The problem with the backpacker is the taper, and a straight sided one would be fantastic. Everything Erik pointed out is right though, plus no other stainless bottle is as sturdy.

I dont want something that will leak, and i would like it to be decent quality, under 30 bucks is good. And the nalgene bottles look like they might get smooshed in my pack.

So kleen kanteen ?

you know nalgene is selling the 38oz straight side stainless again don't you?... made by guyot.... yup... bought 3

their first offering on those ran out in 3 days -- now we know why. :)
did they restock yet?
I would love to have a guyot/nalgene 38 oz -- or a kleen kanteen 40, if the walls were a smidgeon thicker so it wasn't as likely to dent.

WW -- like I said, if you don't need the wide mouth for ease of water filtration, there are LOTS of options under $30.

I ordered 2 a few weeks back, and then one more last week... it just came in... the site claims they are in stock.

just went and looked... not there...wow

on the flip side, the taper wall model fits very nicely in the Stanley cup for packing.

That's the first thing I thought, too. I don't really care; on the rare occasions I drink canned beer it's nearly always Hamm's or PBR in a tallboy... I just thought the commercial campaign was funny. Not funny as in clever, funny as in it actually will cause a spike in sales as people rush out to get the kewl new can :rolleyes:
