I cant believe that some of you guys expect us to give you information about making knives but you wont even write anything on your profile. Just the bare minimum to register seems wrong to me. Rant, Rant!

That has been on my mind a few times as well. Only thing comes to my mind is trickery....but I am a paronoid consperacy type. Just kidding:D

I know I will move pass a post sometimes just because there isnt any personal info:thumbup:

Dang, Bruce....you're right. I needed to update mine. Thanks!

I have now updated mine. I never really thought about it after registering. Thanks for the kick in the seat of the pants. :D

I know the "ol timers" here by now but you new guys seem to expect an awful lot from us but wont even give your real names or anything else for that matter.

Wow, I had absolutely no idea that people took profiles so seriously. Since that's the case, I'll be putting some info in shortly. I think a lot of it is because, most of the other forums we come from are not as highly specialized, serious, and huge. To newcomers the sheer number of members can be overwhelming, leading to people just reading the information and not knowing anyone personally. That is - on other forums, without trying, one becomes very familiar with the regular users quickly, whereas here, there is an illusion of each person always being a stranger.

I look at forums such as this as places to exchange information, not to become friends. I contribute the little that I can, and try to keep my questions to a point where a lot of other people will be able to learn from the answers.

I never thought about it! There's some more info in mine now.

Thanks for the kick in the pants Bruce!

I just checked everybodys profile on this thread and now everyone has something in it. Thanks. Its nice to know just a couple things about the people on our forum. Ive met some really great people here and call some of them friends. Ive been on here everyday since 1999. These forums can either help us or hurt us so it is best to be upfront, honest and straight forward and known. The knife community is not as big as we first think.

Not an issue for me, actually never think about it. If I can help someone, I will regardless of whether they have a profile or not. I agree with you though, it does sound like a rant.

It may well be a rant but I still think that when people register they should fill in the spaces. Sorry if anybody is offended.

Bruce,
I gotte go with Satchmo on this one. If I can give someone the information or assistance they need I am more than happy to do so, profile or not. I can honestly say that I had absolutely NO IDEA that anyone read the profiles, other than maybe the location that appears at the corner of the repies. Had I known this lack of profile info to be offensive I'd have done a better job of it from the git go. I am sure this is probably the case with other new guys as well. Thanks for pointing outh the error in our ways.
