China got where they are because WE BOUGHT THIER STUFF. The blame starts with us, Now they have a huge market and pretty well have thuings their way. Of course knives are a darn small part of the equation.

Just wait till some guys flip out and have enough of it and set up a production line of machines making other machines, which then make machines that make stuff to use...and then Skynet is born and then...

Look, Stelth. (You do know it's spelled "Stealth", right?)

You can't have it both ways.

Knives are produced cost-effectively in China because modern Capitalism has created the oppurtunity.

You don't want *SOCIALISM* (collective gasp), do you??

Robot Capitalism, perhaps?

Stelth, run and hide!

I ran away and hid under the stairs after pondering upon the post Skynet birth part, I returned to my sences after a woft of paint stripper and a camel cigg. So these Robot Capitalist overlords, are they on the Lizard invaders side or are they alligned with gigantic mutant Ant slave drivers?

Ask the OP.

He seems like he's into that conspiracy bullshit.

But we're safe from the lizard people, right?

I heard this guy on YouTube talking about them a while ago on a radio show.

Dr Who is currently fighting the lizard people. This weekend's episode should conclude his conflict with them for now though.

USA-made knives should defend you from them.

I believe they are immune to foreign made one's though.

I think that's what Stelth was alluding to.

He was talking in code.

Well, it got this way because of "globalization" and "international finance" which are just terms to justify the greed of the larger corporations and conglomerates. That way if a few executives indulge in hanky panky, we get financial crises all over.

I try to buy American as much as possible. We are just killing ourselves, and all it boils down to is greed.

This is a forum used and loved by peoples from all over the world. Is it just me, but doesn't a nationalistic rant belong in United States and Territories? I love American knives. South African, Japanese and Canadian as well.

From China doesn't necessary means absolutely mass produced with the lowest common denominator. My Asian family has a lot of carbon steel cleavers that were hand forged from China. They don't have very good fit and finish on the blades themselves, being somewhat uneven as the blade tapers down into the edge, but it's part of the charm that makes them feel rustic and old. You can tell that these were made by hand tools like hammers, files, and hacksaw blades.
