Why is my Custom Knife not sharp?

Thankfully I haven't run across this issue. All the customs I've received have been the sharpest knives I've purchased new.

I can't speak for others but any knife that leaves this outfit will be sharp.

Batch of 21 I finished off and sharpened yesterday, (there's two on the table):

Each knife will make three slices in the edge of the paper with no drag and no ripping:

If there is drag or ripping its a redo. I redid two of this batch. All cleaned up and on todays menu will be starting the sheaths:

Thats what I do and how I test edge sharpness before shipping. I've found it easier to shave arm hair then the edge of the paper. Besides ya make lots of knives like I do and you run out of arm hair fast.

Especially like the dark red jigged bone. Are these knives sold or going up for sale?

A dull knife is a dangerous knife. Happy to see some makers take that extra time to make sure their work is 'safe'.

I have received one unacceptably UNSHARP knife from a maker. Still can't figure out how he thought that edge was even ok.

I have received several custom knives that were beyond dull. One knife had such a huge burr on one side a blind person could have seen it. Another knife looked like it had an edge but you could run your fingers across the edge with lots of pressure without even cutting yourself. I did have one knife that the maker forgot to even put an edge on, however when I contacted him he had me send it back, he made it right plus he sent me a bunch of swag for my troubles. I’m always thankful that this is not the norm from most knife makers that o have dealt with.

I have only a few custom knives, they came fairly sharp.

The busse (which I love) came as sharp as a butter knife.
Crk (which I also love) made me want to sharpen them right away.

I know those aren't custom, but EVERY knife should be sharp whether cheap or pieces of art. Its a knife.
