Why no BM model names

I think it actually simplifies things concerning models that don't always have an official name.

A lot of the newer Benchmade offerings seem to go by their name (Rukus, Skirmish, et al.) and the older, well known knives by their model number (710, 806, 940, etc).

But it is interesting that we talk about the Spyderco Endura instead of the Spyderco C10.

Could be because benchmade has so many models.

Doesn't bother me really.

Makes more sense than calling spydercos silly pet names like caly, para, yoji, or whatever, and I see that all the time

Hereeee para, para para!
Heeereee yoji, yoji, yoji!

Dang, I knew there was a reason I came to this site. Learn something new everyday. So much easier than the way I normally do it. Now it will be much easier to pull up pics of the caly, para, and yojis. Thanks!

That might be OK when running a computer at an acceptable speed but my home computer can take minutes to load a page and if I am just casually reading I do not want to wait- on the flip side how hard is it for the numerical posters to do the same to make their spiel easier to understand for BM newbies. Often I just ignore the post and move onto something that I can relate to without researching.

you could run Firefox, or wait for the new IE, tabbed browsing rules. I keep 9 tabs open on my browser, and that's not even enough sometimes.

FF does leak memory, though.

kris,
you are trolling you should be embarrassed and if you are not trolling you should be embarrassed.

Besides, it's hard to say AFCK!

that duck dosent seem to have any problem:D

the numbers can also be more efficient. instead of saying "I've got an ares with black scales, a coated blade, and partial serrations" I just say "I've got a 732SBK"

kris,

Why should I be embarassed- I am not a troll, and my time is better spent enjoying posts that are self explanitory. I did not say that people are wrong to use numbers instead of model names- if you are a BM fanatic go ahead and use numerical descriptions- just understand that you are talking above some peoples heads. I am a lazy troll- so be it- it is not the worst thing that I have been called in my life. All that I wanted to do is let people know my opinion that many people relate better to names than numbers. Like I said most BM models do not appeal to me so it does not affect my life much.
I am sorry that I offended a couple of you- please accept my appologies:D
