Not entirely accurate. It wasn't a sprint, it was regular (although limited) production. It didn't sell well enough to maintain in the lineup, or to bump up to full production, which tells you how they judge demand.
As mentioned, sales are often the decider in continued production. We're working on a G-10 Endura and Delica in blue that was planned for SG-2, but the cost and minimum quantity required for SG-2 blows it out of the market. Now we're discussing an alternate steel for the G-10 versions.

Sal,
Sounds good, what about high end stainless steel like S35VN or Elmax?

I've made grips for both the Delica and Endura models in G10 and G11 and also in titanium for the Delica. I will be doing Ti grips for the Endura shortly. All of my grip designs involve changing the overall shape of the knives and are not a copy of Spyderco's grips. The VG10 steel is a very good performer for just about any task too.

I don't really care what steel its made out of, I will happily buy a Delica with G10.
FRN is hard to beat for EDC and work.
I would like to see a new Japanese Steel that we haven't seen on the line. Very sad to hear that we won't see Super Gold.
