Why no ESEE hatchet?

As the legend goes (at least in these parts), he was born and raised in Bangor, Maine. ;)

That being said he probably never existed, as his image was mostly used as a marketing tool. I mostly used the phrase to indicate I'm from a region of the U.S. known for its logging/timber/paper/other arboreal products industry. So there are lots of big trees. :D

This is not about Axes but I just had to google Paul Bunion and sure enough he was created in the mind of James Magillivary in 1910. In 1916, as part of an advertising campaign for a logging company, advertisement writer William Laughead reworked the old logging tales into that of a giant lumberjack and gave birth to the modern Paul Bunyan legend.

Right, show me a U.S. Jungle  LOL There are just some witty ones and for once I wished it were me.

I lived in south Louisiana for 12 years and definitely could see the need for a machete there. In my home state of PA I find a hatchet of more use. I'm going to get a Junglas, so maybe that will change.

The Hatchet /Axe idea was talked about back in 2008 and the idea gets brought up every year...
It is on the drawing board but not sure how far it has come since.. Izula,ESEE6,HEST,Junglas, lite machete ,AH1's took a leap forward.... now soft goods...idea's of a folder or two and older models as well.
The ESEE Gang is Busy to say the least.

I think the problem is there are/were ways to make choppers and machetes better.

I don't think you can out axe wetterlings or bruks. There just not a hole in the market there.

and near a bunch of weird stuff in Stephen king's stories.

We like the idea of an ESEE hand axe but want to do a forged axe head with hickory handle and not a laser cut plate axe as many people put out. So, the idea is not toally off the wish list but will probably be some time before it happens.
