Seeing as weight seems to be one of the major concerns here I would suggest that it be liner-less, no point in using G-10 and then stuffing it full of metal.
Embedded skeleton liner like the D4 and E4 are the answer here.
G-10 with nested liners.
Full flat grind.
Jimping on the ramp of the roundhole and along the spine down to the lock.
Screwed construction.
No "dent".
Next question, ZDP, VG-10, or S30V?
Just some ideas I'd pay for.
Clips screws tend to strip out in linerless G-10, thats why many of the older G-10 models eventually got liners(at least on the clip side)
Damn J8. It's as if you read my mind and then elucidated those thoughts and far better than I ever could. The Police is an outstanding piece because --- well, it's the Police! There really is no substitute.I would just like to say that I very much support the run of another G-10 Police, but I will not be spending money on it if it is flat ground. That would make it a thinner Military with no choil, and therefore pretty much make it pointless.
Offer it in G-10 with nested liners, but keep the hollow grind with dramatic swedge. Having and loving my SS Police, I know that blade is brilliant. HIGH penetrating power while still being stout enough to swing around and slam tip first in to things without have to worry. Also, the sprint had better be available fully serrated. That is the only way to have a Police.
