Why no G-10 Police?

Depending on the price I'd be interested. I don't know how much they went for but I've kept my Endura because I didn't think I could keep a good grip on the SS.

Seeing as weight seems to be one of the major concerns here I would suggest that it be liner-less, no point in using G-10 and then stuffing it full of metal.

Clips screws tend to strip out in linerless G-10, thats why many of the older G-10 models eventually got liners(at least on the clip side)

Embedded skeleton liner like the D4 and E4 are the answer here.

G-10 with nested liners.
Full flat grind.
Jimping on the ramp of the roundhole and along the spine down to the lock.
Screwed construction.
No "dent".
Next question, ZDP, VG-10, or S30V?

Just some ideas I'd pay for.

Exactly what he said but add a brass wire clip to allow for deep TIP-UP carry I'll take mine in VG-10 please:D

As Yablanowitz stated and I shal shamelessly plug again-

Dark Blue G-10 Police/Rookie combo Sprint run

nested liners
VG-10 Flat Grind
4 way clip
screw construction

For the last 4 months I have been carrying a G-10 Harpy. I had been reluctant to carry it because of it being so rare. But it has been a pleasure to use. The G-10 handle truly makes a day & night difference in the performance of the knife. Enough said about my G-10 Harpy.

Why the G-10 handled POLICE model Spyderco never took off has also been a very confusing mystery to me  I also agree with Kevin concerning the flat grind blade on the older G-10 model Police models as well.

I used to have 2 G-10 Police models that I traded for other Spyders. Those 2 trades are ones I very much now regret. I am sure I will find another G-10 Police model this year but I am also sure it won't be easy. YES Indeed!! The G-10 Police is truly a comeback Candidate. However I also want the C-60 Ayoob model to be one too

I see. So the question now is can we get away with having a liner on only one side of the knife? How many of the lefties out there would be completely turned off if the G-10 Police only had clip mount positions for right hand tip up and tip down carry?
Another option is to only have enough liner nested around the pivot to give left and right hand tip down carry.

Somehow I get the feeling no one will be satisfied with anything less than having the handle drilled for all four positions though.

I'll settle for less than four way, since RHTD is my prefered carry ;) . My sole misgiving with the Police model is the stupid 4" blade length limit here in Kansas, making it illegal to carry one here.:grumpy:

I would just like to say that I very much support the run of another G-10 Police, but I will not be spending money on it if it is flat ground. That would make it a thinner Military with no choil, and therefore pretty much make it pointless.

Offer it in G-10 with nested liners, but keep the hollow grind with dramatic swedge. Having and loving my SS Police, I know that blade is brilliant. HIGH penetrating power while still being stout enough to swing around and slam tip first in to things without have to worry. Also, the sprint had better be available fully serrated. That is the only way to have a Police.

G-10 is much better than stainless . . . the smooth, heavy stainless handle is the only reason I have not purchased a "Police."

The Military IS the Police in G10.
SS handles are much stronger, but I would like to suggest that there be some "diamond checks" or something similar done to the surface for want of a better hand contact. What about a hole "cut-out" or a "thumb print depression" sunk into the scales/handles for the thumb to slip into?

the millie and the police are not the same thing.

the handles and blade are different.

and yes i have both of them.

kinda similar i suppose but not the same at all........the millies blade is a lot wider vs the police for one thing. also millies a liner lock and police is lockback..........

Damn J8. It's as if you read my mind and then elucidated those thoughts and far better than I ever could. The Police is an outstanding piece because --- well, it's the Police! There really is no substitute.
