Why no perfect knife???

Why isn´t there a perfect knife out there? There´s always something wrong with them. To big, to small, to pointy, to heavy, to shiny, to thin, to thick, to tachtical, no lanyard hole, small pocket clip, not exactely centered blade, a small amount of bladeplay, to hard to open, the steel is to hard/soft, to cheap, not atom slicing sharp, the steel is not S30V (so it´s unusable), made in wrong country, serrations etc. etc. Why can´t some company just do it right and produce a perfect folder so I won´t have to get another one, and another one.... oh, and I can´t afford a Sebenza. :-(

Im sorry to tell you this, but nothing in this world is perfect.

My perfect knife changes from use to use...thus I would need 10+ "perfect" knives. I am quite happy with a few of my knives though!

IF there was a "perfect" knife for you, it would not be perfect once you used it. Even if you find the ideal knife for you, it can't do all knife tasks well enough to be the only knife that you use.
Look how many types of kitchen knives there are, and that's just dealing with food. Add camping, hunting, fishing, military, self defense, diving, space travel, all the sciences, scalpels, etc.. etc..and you see there is no best, or perfect for everything.

There are so many perfect knives that the problem is: which one?

dantzk.

i think it has alot to do with everyone different sized and shaped hands. luckily for me the manix 2 feels like it was tailored to my hand. its my perfect knife.

It's not the knives, or the guns, or the women, or the cars, or the motorcycles that are not perfect, it is us. It is our mentality that is want-want-want. We are envious and always want more. Each generation is getting worse.

If you ask my grandpa about his perfect woman: he would say his wife of 58 years. About his perfect knife, he would say his Puma slipjoint that he's had in his pocket daily since 1977.

Why are there no perfect knives ?

1) because everyones needs and wants and hand size is different , so perfect for one person is not perfect for everyone .

2) making knives that are very close to perfect in quality takes much more time and more expensive materials and therefore cost ALOT .

3) because of your statment above , if all knives did happen to be high quality and perfect you wouldn't be able to afford a knife at all .

HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS !

Spyderco Paramilitary 2, comes in s30v D2 CTS 204- CTSXHP M390 S35vn. It is the perfect knife FOR ME very versatile. Perfect is in the opinion and use. I would never have a use for a zero tolerance, but my friend uses his knife as a pry bar so they are perfect for him

A perfect knife would be like the perfect screwdriver. You wouldn't use a screwdriver sized to adjust eye glasses for adjusting the screw on something much larger. Just as you wouldn't use a fillet knife to carve up a piece of wood or use a bowie knife to fillet a fish. Each has its own design and purpose. Same with steels, clip point vs drop point, etc.

Maybe our idea of what comprises the "perfect" knife changes every time we get a few bucks in our pocket. I know that's my problem.
