Why no perfect knife???

A perfect folder would have an ELMAX blade, titanium liners, G-10 handles, and be absolutely free to everyone for the asking! :D

There are many variation of a human being so therefore many variation for a knife.

Besides, why on earth would we even want a perfect knife? That would just make life boring.

A perfect knife is like a perfect woman everybody has their on perception of what that is. Some people like the big and hefty some people like them thin and light. Gotta find the one that has the right curves that fit you just right!

....see what I did there? :P

Any answer here has got to be seen as the respondent's perfect knife for THEM. Of course I'm just restating what several people have already said. But as far as big,and hefty goes, that's how I definitely like my knive's, but I like my women slim.

Now the more I have thought about this a perfect knife for me would be the Workhorse I already mentioned. Big and hefty is it's middle name. Rides without printing, and has a deep carry clip that allows the entire knife to go into my pocket tip up. The thing is, even though this knife is pretty much perfect in my eye's, for someone else this is not going to hold true. And even though I've said it is the perfect knife for me, that doesn't mean the hunt is over, because they are making knives everyday!

I wonder how many categories of knives I could come up with to have the perfect one for each section.

Like others have pretty much said so many people looking for different qualities in a knives. What's perfect for one, won't be perfect to another.

What fun would it be finding the perfect knife? You wouldn't have any reason to keep searching and trying new ones. Now it's the one I like the most that week, day, hour.

Made a boo-boo.:o:o:o

But here's a pic of my Workhorse, the perfect knife for ME! At least right now.

Why isn´t there a perfect knife out there? There´s always something wrong with them. To big, to small, to pointy, to heavy, to shiny, to thin, to thick, to tachtical, no lanyard hole, small pocket clip, not exactely centered blade, a small amount of bladeplay, to hard to open, the steel is to hard/soft, to cheap, not atom slicing sharp, the steel is not S30V (so it´s unusable), made in wrong country, serrations etc. etc. Why can´t some company just do it right and produce a perfect folder so I won´t have to get another one, and another one.... oh, and I can´t afford a Sebenza. :-(

 But the Spyderco Military is readily avialiable...

My experience is that you learn a little more about your own preferences with every knife that you buy (if you buy with purpose and not willy nilly), and eventually you form pretty strong preferences toward certain attributes, eventually you will be able to narrow it down to something pretty specific. Unfortunately that brings you to the point where nothing that exists is good enough.
Oppositely, if your definition of "imperfect knife" is "a knife that doesn't cut what I wanted it to" and you have a knife that did cut what you wanted it to cut, it could be considered "the perfect knife".

I'd be surprised if you couldn't find a Spyderco you could live with. ;)
