Why not a CLEAR handle?

Hi Moonwilson,

It's "somthing else".

sal

Thanks, Sal. I figured it might be something new and secret-sneaky. New and sneaky is good!

Here's hoping "something else" is in development for "something else". Like a Tasman Salt with a "something else" handle!

Oh, that's right! I have two of those and completely forgot about them. That is polycarbonate- great stuff. I did a bunch of work with polycarbonate when I was in school. Nice to work with, and strong!

Hard clear plastics usually don't handle impact too well, polycarbonate and lexan are very hard and provide to absorption of an impact, they just shatter, s silicone handle could work, and should provide excellent grip but is foggy at best.

It could not have been that long ago that I saw a post of a custom handled knife with a translucent material that was reffered to as G11.

As nobody flinched at the time I did not ask about. I thought that maybe I was the only one not in the know.

I think the problem with the idea as seEn in this thread is that people think 'Cristal' clear. Maybe a more 'transluscent' type of tinted material would be a more suitable solution.

BTW,
Anyone remember using clear handled screwdrivers?

Yep. Anyone else remember breaking a clear screwdriver handle? :D

As fast as I scratch up plastic-lensed eyeglasses and stainless steel knife handles, any transparent material will become translucent in short order. Unless someone finds a cheap way to make slabs of diamond, that is.

NO! I want no deviations here! I want ALL knives to be clear handled. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
You will be REQUIRED BY LAW to have clear handles.
My OP should have made that very clear.
We want no choices. Choices lead to confusion. Confusion leads to weakness.

RAH!
:D

yablanowitz,

You just came up with the answer.

Just like my CRYSTAL CLEAR handled screw drivers, lets have CRAFTSMAN make all the knife handles. That way, when they break we'll get a replacement at the local Sears!
