Why so little excitement for the Leaf Storm?

Ever since I heard about the Leaf Storm I've been stoked. It fixes my main hesitations with Spyderco (slab o' stainless grips and lockback), gives it a great reliable lock, neat scales, cool profile, and it meets the 2.5" limit that many government offices have.

So I'm pretty stoked about this, but seeing almost nothing online. One single pic of a prototype from the Dutch collector's site, a few mentions, that's it.

Is nobody else interested in this knife, or is it a long way off from production, or what's the story? I'd think a tiny tip-up framelock would really excite folks. I, for one, am certainly excited. :D

I'm on preorder for one and have been for a couple months now ;) I'm excited! Actually I may be on preorder for two. I have to check again . . .

I think there is a ton of buzz about this knife. I for one am very excited to see it in person it is on my buy list for sure.

For me, the Leafstorm is one of those knives that I can tell I would never use. Why? Well, because I have big hands and it's a small knife with a handle that doesn't make it any bigger.

Spyderco gets it right on a lot of small knives. The Urban is a good example. Spyderco uses a nicely shaped choil to allow for a solid grip, one that allows me to get all four fingers on the handle. This makes the Urban a very useful small knife, one that I carry everyday. The Leafstorm's relatively blocky grip can only gonna make the knife more difficult for me to hold...and with an MSRP of over $200, the Leafstorm just gonna be too much money for too little knife (for me, anyways)

What site has pre-order? I'm not finding anything with Google.

The MSRP killed my excitement for it, it is still a sweet looking knife though and I understand why it is priced the way it is.

Well, I have yet to find a framelock that I like, I prefer tip down carry and full flat grinds, the G-10 pictured in the catalog was uglier than original sin and I have big hands. What's to like about it? ;)

I'm not too stoked about the Leafstorm because I'm impatiently waiting for the Sage II w/ Ti framelock.

I'm pretty excited about it- wanted one for a while now- just too broke to swing one right away.

I'm excited about it. It's a simultaneously classy and quirky design. And Wilkins is the man. :)

Owning a custom Leafstorm I've been anxiously awaiting these as well. Therefore you can imagine my excitement when I was lucky enough to score one from the "Pilot run" of 50 which were sold at the IWA show (kind of like the European SHOT Show) in Germany about a month ago. Kevin actually had a few for sale on another forum (all gone now). What I'm hearing is that these will be in full production in "early summer".....I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the Blade show......

Awww you. *shakes fist*

Post more then just a teaser picture! :D

Needless to say, I'm excited. If the retail price falls into the $110-$130 range I'll be happy.

Didn't know what it was until now. Great looking folder, can't wait to hear more about it.

Nice pictures. To be honest, I like the custom blade much more than the Spyderco but I like the overall appearance of the Spyderco more. Probably due to liking the texture of the G11 scale or lack therof.

Nice knives ;)
