I have decided to try out a Spyderco Tenacious as my first knife. Thank you all so much, and requesting lock for the thread unless people want to continue discussions.
Yeah they are some hideous looking knives

I just love Spyderco knives, and you can open them in reverse grip thanks to the opening hole.
Great quality and affordable for everyone...
Ergonomics on most of their knives are scary good![]()

I agree, I find most of their blades not very attractive. The only one that I desire really is the Szabo folder. They remind me of Cold Steel blades, which just look cheap. I know they aren't, but when I see pictures of them, I just think that they would fall apart in my hand
Hey, that's great, man. Glad we could help.. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Just be careful.... When you realize how good a $40 knife is from a good company you'll then want to see how great a $80 or $100 knife is... It can become an expensive habit. Don't get bitten by the Spyder. Grab you a Mini or Full sized Recon 1 when you've got the cash. The same goes for Cold steel, Don't get frostbite. ;D
EDIT: Also, a bit belated, but welcome to the Forum.
Lmao....NO
This.Right. Whatever you do, avoid Taichung Spydercos at all costs.
Seriously, I'd put the build quality of Taichung Spydercos up against American manufacturing all day long and twice on Sundays.
