A couple of my larger choppers...

Sometimes ya just gotta process wood. Ya know?

Hot tamales Bruce!!! That is a huge blade - whaddya call it - "The Knachete"?!?

@William - dude. Ya got a problem. I can help you. For your own good, you should *immediately - do not hesitate* send me the funky looking blade with the knotted-up string tied to the bottom of the handle and possibly a few others to purge yourself of this addiction. Think of it like "detox"!!! ;-)

Seriously, what an amazing collection of steel stuff. I hope not a single one is a safe-Queen.

billie not only has a huge collection of choppers but i would guess he's got some mighty big arms to match the jumbo blades.

I don't know what the interest is in big blades. Personally I think it's some genetic code within males...that big blade just brings out the warrior, Neanderthal/caveman, Viking, explorer, pioneer, etc. in all of us. It doesn't even need to be practical, it's just a desire for a large, sharp piece of steel.

Big blades are just cool, fun and with some skill, very functional…although, you won’t see many ultra-light backpackers lugging around a large blade :D

I don’t have any pictures, but I would include machetes and axes/tomahawks…they too have their place and are quite functional tools in the right environment and the right hands.

Choppers---Now we are talking my Forte :)
I have tested well over 200 different ones-soI know what they can and can not do.

Just wait until you get a bit more experience then you'll really know what you like.:eek::eek::D

WOW that's a collection and a half, thanks for the pics.

Despite what the metrosexuals with small "tools" tell us. . .SIZE DOES MATTER!! ;)

only two i own. this is one area of cutlery that i'm green in.
have been checking out customs but failure rate is higher in this area than hunters so it's difficult to make a decision. one x-pert [william] has given great advice but that maker is'nt taking orders. wanted a custom since everyone has busses. will keep looking.

For some reason after seeing this thread, I realize I don't have nearly enough fixed blades.

I must buy more, I love the pics guys.

Are you being judgemental of my tiny pink knife :(:(:(

Look man, I wear my earing in my left ear....Like a Buccaneer!!!

Disclaimer KGD has not worn an earing since 1998, he does in fact own a little pink knife

because a large knife is probably the most capable tool that is still easily carried on the person, yet can kick ass at larger chores if made and handled right.
in the woods, a good bowie, 4 1/4: or so fixed blade, and maybe a letherman supoer tool, and i am pretty happy.

Some of my collection in a shot from early this year. I can't seem to get enough choppers. I hunger for them! Some of these will be given away soon. Nothing fancy though!
