Why we talk about knives in 21 century?

Ge this is a funny thread. Knives are to a man, what jewelry is to a woman. We like them. It is something to do.
 
An awful lot of guys do not care about knives. I talk to men at work and they have no interest in them at all. At least not enough to buy a good one. Of course I work at a real estate office, so the men there aren't exactly the outdoorsy type. Anyone can like knives irregardless of their sex, but I run into very few people outside of here that are really into them like the members here. My good friend in Australia listened to me talk so much about Spyderco knives she started buying a few and reading about them. Her interest isn't nearly as high as mine but she did say she "gets it" now!
 
When I go into a gun store the display case that catches my eye is the one displaying the knives. It's like jewelry for most women, all that glittery stuff leads to a cascade of neurotransmitters throughout the nervous system. Some of us are attracted to blades and I suspect that you can trace this back through your ancestry. According to the Discovery channel vikings use to sit around the fire at night sharpening their swords and axes and talking about how to make them better. What we do here is very basic, we sit around our "electronic fires" and talk with each other about what works and what we like best.

And I just want to say that all this talk about vampires should be moved to suckbloodforum.com.

All that you saying is true, knives this, knives that ... ok! Obveously you have forums for vampires, knives, movies and i dont belong here. I can understand that, but something is very interesting.
My question was " Why we talk about knives in 21 century? " and i think that better place of this doesnt exisit. You didn't even think about meaning of question before you started with defensive and offensive answers. You need knives only because of fear. Only in fear man want to defend him self or attacks. So, i wish you luck in future life and that you never feel how is to be cut or stabbed.
One thing more - i allways asked myself why George A. Romero presents in his movies americans like zombies without brain who only want flesh and blood - you answered me and thank you for that.

why do you have a spare tire in your car ? can't you just avoid all the obstacles that may cause you to get a flat ? Shouldn't be hard , since you of all people must be able to tell where these obstacles are hiding !

Or do you keep a spare tire for fear of road hazards and being stranded in the middle of no place without your favorite blanket ?

I saw quite a few responses about knives as TOOLS. You may have missed that part, for whatever reason- but I'm not defending myself against rope, leather, stray gorilla glue, or a bow stave that I am shaping- knives are, first and foremost, tools. Tools. Very efficient ones for cutting. If you'd like to make a youtube video of making a knife handle and sheath with your teeth, I'll watch it, but I doubt you will convince anyone that it's a better method than using knives.

Interestingly, I do make some knives as weapons, and while I'm hardly a violent zombie (though I've made a zombie sword), I feel that recognizing the capacity for violence in others and being prepared to defend oneself is wise. And hey, again, I'll take one of my Spanish Dirks over your teeth as a weapon any day :D
 
Its like anything. Some people are into cars. I just think of them as transportation. Same with knives. Some think of them as just tools. Others like me enjoy the technical aspects as well as the artistry of the craft.

You couldn't be farther from the truth. We have to think carefully about the meaning of EVERYTHING you say because your english is so terrible. This is not an attack on your intelligence or an insult. It is only meant to express how difficult it is to communicate with you. Think about the meaning of that for a while.

Your not a Troll, your an idiot. Not only can you not communicate effectively, but you also have no reading comprehension. In a previous post I answered your question very clearly as did many others. I took Esav's advice and tried to treat you as a fellow forum member. Only after you showed obvious stupidity did I even start to question your motives for this post. Your prattle about vampires has convinced me that you must be a thirteen year old kid or a very bored housewife. I really hope the MODs ban you. You were given plenty of chances to prove yourself as genuine and you failed miserably every time. In the future, if you meet an american in person, remember that calling us brainless is a really good way to get a foot in your ass.
