By this point I'm sure we all fully realize he's a troll, but it's all so pathetically amusing it seems we can't stop ourselves.

Cabala, may I ask you this: Do you wear clothes? Do you live in a house? Do you have a bicycle/car/use public transportation? Work with wood/metal? Use high technology of any kind? Unless you live in a mud hut in the middle of nowhere, the chances are ludicrously high that you in some way shape or form make use of something made using cutting tools. They are the foundation of not only modern technology, but ALL technology and can be considered vastly more important than the wheel in terms of its overall impact on the course of humanity. After all, it took a cutting tool to make the first wheel.

we might want to tread lightly , else he may play his Blue Eye's White Dragon Yugi-oh card in the face up position.... and then what will we do ?

"...What is it with all these obvious troll threads in General, lately?..."

Oh the economic FUBAR.
Probably just killin' time, with so much lay offs lately!

Everyone's BS detector went off but somehow it/he got through. I guess we were all taken by the holiday spirit to help the mentally unfortunate.

Tell me, please, what is "troll"?

Tell me, please, what is "troll"?

A troll is someone who comes to a discussion board without the intention of discussing anything. A troll posts only negative comments, adds nothing to the board, and refuses to answer the questions of others.

And now, good friend Cabala, would you mind answering my questions? We've had the good graciousness to answer so many of yours... ;)

Troll is a pun- a word with two meanings.

Trolling is a type of fishing, and an internet troll is someone who "fishes" on a newsgroup, forum, or email list to try and stir up anger and controversy with no actual useful purpose.

A troll is also an ugly and evil faerie creature who lives under a bridge and attacks travellers.

Both meanings apply to the internet phrase "troll"

I believe that Cabala knows very well what the troll is,it is the same term here in Croatia as well, and maybe we should stop to feed him.

An awful lot of guys do not care about knives. I talk to men at work and they have no interest in them at all. At least not enough to buy a good one. Of course I work at a real estate office, so the men there aren't exactly the outdoorsy type. Anyone can like knives irregardless of their sex, but I run into very few people outside of here that are really into them like the members here. My good friend in Australia listened to me talk so much about Spyderco knives she started buying a few and reading about them. Her interest isn't nearly as high as mine but she did say she "gets it" now!

In the course of my (long) life, I have known many people, men and women, who use knives daily for all manner of purposes, professional and otherwise. Very few of them, however, have had an active interest in knives as a subject, none of them women. Typically, knives are regarded as an item of no more concern than a screwdriver or bottle opener, just another day to day item.

Cases in point: one of my friends, a stagehand, uses a knife or multitool every working day, and as a hunter and camper, for those purposes. He owns good stuff, but everything he knows about knives came from hearsay (not always accurate) and experience. So long as they serve, his involvement in the subject is done. My wife is likewise. We have pretty good kitchen knives which she uses daily (me too, no sexism here ;)), and carries a SAK everywhere out. She can tell between good and crap, has preferences, despises Leatherman, admires Vic (I like both :)) and beyond that, no interest at all.

Another friend is a guy who used to work as a mechanic on Ohio River motorized barges. His job kept him on the river a month or more each time, so he spent many weekends in riverfront towns. There, a Saturday morning ritual was the traditional eggs and whiskey breakfast, followed by gatherings where knives were displayed and swapped. He joined in to be sociable, but even with a fair sized collection to show for the time spent, was never really that into it.

The only person I ever knew to be an actual knifeknut was a retired university professor who was never without one or more quality folders, an elegant custom slippie, and a belt buckle blade. Once I saw him scare the crap out of a lady looking for a knife at a buffet table. Helpfully, he produced his Benchmade and flicked out the blade. She had an expression on her face of someone about to be mugged, although by someone who was nearly blind, crippled by arthritis and needing two canes to get around. That was ten years ago, and he's dead now.

At present, I am the only knife guy in my social network. Some of the neighbor kids call me Knifeman, a responsibility I don't take lightly ;). So, for like-minded company, I have to go online. Pitiful (the situation, not the online folks :D).

I concur

Yes, i did know what's troll in mitology and when look myself in mirror i must confess, there is some similarity in otuside look.
I didn't know for existence of "internet trolls".
It doestn't matter.
Obveously, we dont know why we talk about knives in 21 century , so, let's talk about knives.
I have CS "Recon scout", "Gurkha kukri" and " Master hunter", Ontario " Rat-3" and "Tak -1 ".
Is it normal that an vegetarian, troll, houswife or 13 year kid had so many knives? Didn't i deserve some medal from your MOD? For number of knives, maybe? Or you think that i'm brainless because of one harmless question? Please take a look on your answers and ask yourself " Are we maybe " troll " someone with no reason? "
I'm not " genuine ", just have my opinion and nothing else.
