Why?

I love all three. I only have one 1911 and it only shoots paper for the most part. I have no desire to carry it as a defense pistol. I have 3 Glocks and 2 of them get carried quite often in the outdoors especially my 10mm. Glocks point naturally for me and have proven to be rugged and reliable for my uses. When I want sheer big bore power that's when I step up to my revolvers and I love the way all of them fit in my hands.
 
Meh, to me, it's very much like the age old "Ford v Chevy v Mopar" argument.

Every platform has its advantages and disadvantages, and those individual points are determined mostly by the goals of the person operating the platform.
My opinion, learn to run as many different ones you can, and run them accurately and efficiently. There are more of them more alike than they are different.
 
That reminds me of a magazine article I read years ago, written by Leroy Thompson. He also recommended knowing how to use as many different firearms as possible on the off chance you might need to pick up an odd one to defend yourself
