Wife wants to do a bladesmith calender

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK.....? BLADESMITH CALENDER? LITTLE RISQUE BUT TASTEFUL, HER IDEA, NOT MINE.... lol.... EVER SINCE I BOUGHT HER THOSE NEW BREASTS.......LOL.....

AND NO I AM NOT EXPLOITING MY WIFE... SHE THINKS IT WOULD BE FUN.....

FROM WHAT MONTHS... TO MONTHS..... SHE WANTS TO TAKE PICS AROUND THE SHOP.... SOME WITH JUST THE LEATHER APRON ON....lol>.......

I for one have no problem with tasteful pictures of an attractive woman in a shop setting. The idea reminds me of the classic calendars my Dad and uncle had in their garages, y'know like a model looking good next to a hot rod. Go for it.
 
thanks for the input guys... will tell her.....lol.... they prob be about 20 each.... Like the snap-on pics.... maybe a more risque depends on her..... LOL
 
Yeah ....little consolation for a picture of Larry the cable guy dressed as a mermaid. Sound like we know what Dan likes tho ???? ;) By the way Dan the grinder is still running strong !! -Larry

I'd prefer something that would last longer then just one year.
Why not posters?
 
I have a poster I was making. A friend took a shot of a gal in an apron,holding a hammer - not exactly anything showing, but quite clearly naked under the leather. She is wearing a pair of safety goggles. The caption reads,
" All Tim said was that I had to wear eye protection!"

I was going to make a calendar and some posters for Ashokan from it, but to be honest, the gal isn't all that attractive.

Your wife is very attractive. If you take a shot like that, I would love it if you could send it to me so I can make some posters and calendars. I would gladly send some to you.

I make knife calendars every year for my friends and customers. They are of my knives and knife related shots of forging, etc. I think your forge-art calendar would be well received.

I am moving this to "Around the Grinder".
 
The poster will be $30 shipped and will show nudity. she has no problem with that. she does modeling so the pics will have to be shot around the shop and so forth. I will make a paypal buttom on my site for this. feedback please from apr 11=mar12

posters or mugs will be available upon request.... I like the apron idea, kinda had the idea similiar...... and more bladesmithing humor......

I have three people so far... I will do the poster deal.... might be around the same price. Kelley and I laughing about this.............. she likes the poster idea, said "do I have to wear the apron....???

the first poster will be in the leather apron with a caption

second poster will be titles, hammered by a bladesmith, with her holding two hammers

As long as she has a knife(s) and or tool(s) and the like with her in the photos, she's decent.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

If you want, you could have fun with double entendre captions too. You know stuff like:

  • red hot heat of the forge
  • forging a blade requires good hammer control
  • quenching hot steel for proper hardness
  • drawing back the spine
  • proper heat treat
  • now that's good edge geometry
  • raising the heat past critical
  • Etc, etc, etc....

I took off the sales thing in my post. want feedback, if you choose to move it then do so, no problem. I am looking at feedback from other makers to see if they would disapprove..... thereis a social stigma and drama bashers everywhere....ya know.
