Wife wants to do a bladesmith calender

btw, I have few friends in the knife community for a reason, I believe in stand up people, be honest, treat everyone the same regardless of belief or religion. I am an RN and a Veteran, I really don't have to explain myself to anyone. but I will be respectful of any comment if respectful.
 
So, if anyone want a calendar then grab it.... those who don't dont bother..........

I also emailed Bruce to get his feedback also, So, I would like to know now, would people think different from me whether I was a Disabled Army Veteran or not, or a bladesmith with this calendar or not.......... Really, I hear more of I am interested than not. Should I be the model instead of my wife? lol
 
I tried to clear things up with Daniel in a pm, but I just wanted to clarify to folks here that I have ZERO ISSUE with nudity!!! I think the female form is the most beautiful thing on the planet and I love seeing it. :) :thumbup:

My post was just supposed to be friendly food for thought---- that something like this has the potential to hurt long-term sales.

I apologize if it came off like I was saying it was obscene or judging them. :)

I think this is a really bad idea.

Many folks around here are new enough to not be here when Bruce Evans was--- but Bruce did the same kind of thing. Often posting similar pictures of his wife. Every once in awhile Bruce would ask if people thought negatively of it, and a dozen or so folks would always post, "NO!!! This is awesome!!!"

But every single show I went to in that time frame, it would get brought up amongst makers, "What the hell is that guy thinking?" Or something would come up about Bruce and people would say, "Oh the guy pimping out his wife with the amateur porn?"


Just something to think about. :)

Its definitely a Career Killer for a Knifemaker..just ask Bruce...

I think Mike was being Sarcastic... Bruce seems to being doing pretty well despite the said photos! Correct me if I am way off Mr. Snody.
 
we are going to put the calendars out this weekend. The way I feel, if you don't want on don't get one. I am very proud to have such a beautiful woman in my life and she is the best.............. hands down. The calendar is in good taste. She likes being a tease. I am sure there will be some posts from those with the calendar that will agree with me that she is a beautiful pin-up model.

If there are customers out there who would not purchase a blade from me because of the calendar then all I got to say is........I would not want their money in the first place.

My wife is going through alot right now, the Docs think she may have pancreatic cancer. So the monies from the calendar sales will help with her medical bills.
 
I'm with Steven on get well soon wishes for your lovely wife. Hopefully the docs are wrong this time.

I'm with Nick on feedback about your calendar/posters. I think there are some things in this world that are too precious to be bought and sold...those things you have to promise a lifetime of companionship to win. I don't mean disrespect to your way of thinking and I know this will sound old fashioned but I believe you should protect her from that kind of voyeurism. She's worth more than that.

we have 4 calendars, two promised, we are going to redo the calendar in either swimsuit or sexy outfit. thanks to all for the input.
 
She has a DVT blood clot... upper GI is okay, cannot scope lower yet. thanks for all support.............. she should be coming home from the hospital tomorrow, we hope... my job is giving me alot of slack about having to call out to watch our kids because she is hospitalized..........and I work in a ER............. The shop will be out of commission soon........... we are moving back to Myrtle Beach SC........... so if anyone is near there.............give us a shout.............
