Wifred Worked!

Hi waynorth -

It is amazing what a little bit of detail will do for a nice knife.

Thanks for the pictures of that beauty.

best regards -

Nice personal feel added to the knife.

The Swayback is a gem of a knife, seems to appeal to a lot of diverse people as well-a good sign:thumbup: I don't find it too small, works excellently and looks and is very well made. The semi-sunk joints are a big friend to the pocket too, and the Chestnut Bone, gibber:D

CASE read this eh? Mmmh, could some decent coloured Redbone be put back into production please:thumbup: And the only reservartion I have about the Swayback is the current shield..rather dull. Diamond would suit this pocket jewel-and the rest of the range a lot more:D

Wow - you must be even older than I am! Who even has watchpockets any more?!? :)

It is a nice looking knife and a great pattern. Use that in good health!

Dr. Bill, if I was THAT old, I'd probably have a watch in the pocket, instead of a knife!!:D

1944 - just a kid!!

I assume that the 58 RC is from the factory? That's a bit harder I think than most had speculated CV to be "run to." Unless it's harder now than my last CV from 97, it sure does sharpen easliy!

It came from the factory at 58 RC, Mark. The test was done at WW.
That's real good numbers IMO. It takes a razor edge!!

Very nice.

I've always wondered why more knives weren't blued.

It's just cold blued, kozak. Anyone can do it. I'm going to do a couple of other ones, now that I see how nice it looks and performs!

Waynorth,

What a treat, getting it tweeked by the Bose Brothers! I didn't see any imprint on the blade, like..."Tuned up by Tony"! :D

As someone down there says.."Does it Cut"???

Kent B. Warnberg

this thread finally pushed me over the edge; just ordered the sway back (cv) despite being well over my knife budget for the year (and we're only halfway through it).

That's a dandy Charlie! I really like the looks of the blued blades and the other modifications too.

It's definitely an impressive little guy, Ford!

It hasn't stopped cutting yet, Kent. It has freed all the week's mail from imprisonment in various boxes and envelopes, except for one box which my WT (of WW origin:D) took care of. Still winds a nicely curled shaving off a piece of hemlock!!
It's not a bad life, having Wilfred Works supply your daily cutting tools! I've even got one in the kitchen I am allowed to use now and then:rolleyes:!!;)

Hope you enjoy it, ddml!! Hard to beat for a decent price.

I really did not need one of these, but I bought myself a sway back in chestnut bone anyway for Fathers Day. I'll take a few pictures of it when it gets here. I'd been hankering for one for about 3 or 4 months.

A belated Happy Father's Day!! An excellent reason to have a CV swayback!!:D
Let us know how you like it!

I am just curious how much does the treatment cost and how long does it take?

Sorry for the double post the blackberry is not cooperating today!

Mine was done as a gift, and the boys at WW are too busy making knives to take on a lot of that re-working. Any experienced knifemaker can grind the blades a little thinner, and reswedge them. I'd ask a maker who you have been dealing with, or who you might know somehow.
If they have a Rockwell tester, they can also do that for you.
To cold-blue the blades, just follow the directions on the bottle!

You guys were right, the Sway Back Jack is sweet. What a great little knife. It has a some heft to it, and feels great to hold. No gaps, or rough edges. Snap is about a 7; open, close, and in and out of the half stops.

Super pleased with the Chestnut Bone. Color and jigging is great, pile side a touch lighter. Both springs are flush in all three positions. For $56.00 shipped, I like the deal. This jack will be taking squatters rights in the pocket for the weekend!

Great colour on Chestnut Bone, it's really attractive:thumbup:

Interesting to see that CASE uses 4 pins on these rather than their usual 3.

Very, very fine little knife that feels substantial and has quality in the hand.

I am really enjoying mine, Hal.
I've got the cold blue about half worn off. It's just so handy and useful - it reaches the limit of a small knife. Any smaller and it would start to be to "fussy" to use.
A stroke of genius for the Old Dog, and for Case recognizing it!!
