Wilderness in Northern Thailand

man you got some great pics and it looks like a amazing trip. I wish bamboo grew around here, such a useful wood that grows so fast. there are some species that grow almost a inch a day. thanks a ton for sharing.

Great pictures!

I see some people with knives/bolos in wood sheaths. Do you have closeup pictures of the knives and sheaths? They remind me of the bolos I saw in the mountains of the Philippines.

Dick, absolutely wonderful pictures and descriptions. I thank you sir! I have been to Thailand twice while in the Army for 6 week trips to train with the Thai Army. I LOVE THAILAND. The people are some of the most amazing I have ever met in my numerous free trips around the world courtesy of Uncle Sam. I cannot wait to return one day and take a similar trip, and actually maybe meet the makers of those fine blades. A knife making tour would be something else!

Taghnks for all.

May I show the knives that I have at home.
The Northern Thai Peopl use Inep also but this Meed larb also very widely use.

great stuff! i have been to thailand twice and LOVED it, by far the best time of my life! i will move there in a heartbeat if i could!

Wow Dick, this is an amazing post. The furniture making is very clever, maybe the engineers on the trip learned a trick or two? lol Great job with the pictures and write-ups. This is keeping me very entertained during a boring afternoon at work. I feel like I just took a small trip through the Burmese jungle lol. Thanks again!

nice pics! i definitely miss bamboo every time i see it...i did notice that it seems all the work was done by the locals. did you guys actually do anything bushcrafty? :)
