I've also been wanting to check out Ray Mears books. His videos are my favorite of all the Survival/Bushcraft stuff that's out there.

Was gonna start a new thread to ask a similar question but found this thread so I'll add in my question here...are the 'SAS Survival Guide Series' handbooks (SAS Survival Guide, Essential Survival) decent survival wilderness skills/survival books? I have read some about them but I wanted to get input from someone who has or had them previously. I am looking to buy my first survival guide/handbook and am wondering if the duo I mentioned above would be a good starter pack.
