This is the seven Incher I’ve been carrying lately.

Some great knives in this thread, bet some people have new ones to add now as well !

A survival knife needs to be one you can carry with you at all times, so I would think it would have to be legal. Yes, I know, when you're hiking or camping in the wilderness you can get away with carrying whatever you want. I prefer to EDC something that can be used as an all out survival knife and a daily user. I carry either a ESEE-5, ESEE-4 or Fallkniven F1.

Zombie thread about survival knives? I'm in. My BK-11 helps provide field dressed deer and my BK-2 helps provide sliced apples.

Here's a few of my chopper survival knives...I prefer the big knives over my smaller knives, although I always carry both large and small in the woods. Whatever floats your boat, right?

Can't believe it has been a year since I strated this thread. I also can't believe how much my idea of what a survival knife is has changed since then. Here is one of my six inch blade models.

Shaving sharp I have one Brian Johnson custom survival knife. 8 inch blade and kg gun coated. He makes great blades at great prices.

I was wondering if we could get this going. How about we post photo's and maker info. of our survival knives. The only criteria is the knives have to have at least a 7 inch blade. Sawteeth, hollow handles,or just big knives.Old school Rambo types like from Lile or modified designs like those from Parrish,Beck,Carillo,Martin, etc. I am hoping to find new makers who are making something different but well made. We should also include survival type sheaths. Here are some of mine.Makers include:Parrish,Martin of Texas,Carillo,Koster,Farid,Brian Johnson,,and Terrell.

Hello shaving sharp ,
what kind of Hollow Handle knife a third down from the right of Robert Parrish with handle black cord wrapping. Do you have other pictures of this knife? Looks interesting.
Thanks and sorry for my poor english.

Regards

These are the only blades that I trust as stand alones in this size category, that I own. I mainly have 4-5 inchers or machetes, axes. I have been doing some thinking lately about what blade would be practical for me in the Boreal along a major river system. What came to me was a surprise. The Becker BK-5 Magnum Camp. This knife is a multi tasker but I would dovetail it with an axe or hatchet, as I would with many knives. About the only time that I would baton a knife now is if I had no other option and had a trusted stand alone. The BK-2 would also be a stand alone for me.

I vote whichever flavor of GSO you prefer. The 5.1 is on my radar currently, and I'd like to have a 4.1 too.
