Will I regret not getting a Sebenza?

Just plz don't get one of those fake ones & think it's close. They are not even in the same universe. That my friend, would be a wrong decision.

I started with a small sebenza. Six years later ,still using it . Perfect for me . Small enough to carry and big enough for most jobs. But an inkosi would serve me as well. They are a simplified 21. Why not watch Reeve videos. Tim reeve does them , excellent not filled with drama.

Lots of great input thanks everyone. I think I answered my own question just by asking it.

I pulled the trigger on a large 21 today. My first ever CRK! Wow I’m excited.

The more I learned about the pivot bushing and the slicing ability of the 21 I just knew I would prefer it.

Excellent choice! A large plain 21 is perfect for a first CRK and it will make an excellent user! Congrats!

Congrats on the new knife. I think you will love it. It took me a while to finally get a 21, but when I did it became my favorite CRK model.

difficult question to answer.
Sebenza 21 and inkosi are very different.
I have both in large and small versions.

for the small version, I have no problems, I like them both for different quality.
s the size are actually different you take the one you need and it will be great.

the problem will be for the large versions.
They have the same size but different blade thickness and different grind.
Also the position of the lanyard is different.
In my hand I like the 21 a little bit more than the inkosi... but it can be the other way round for you.

You will regret it. Say no to restaurants and bars for a few months and you can afford another CRK.

Edit: i.e. you will regret not buying a 21. But you chose the 21 so good job.

My last CRK bought was in August 2015, a Large 21 Plain Jane. I stopped buying after that. This is my most carried folder. I also have the Umnumzaan that I edc.

IMO, the 21 appeals as it is comfortable to use, easy to maintain, has less parts and uses 1 tool to dismantle/assemble. I carry mine in a crk leather sheath providing a slim profile when carried in the pocket. My next 21 would be the large with micarta with double thumb studs.

Anyways congrats on your 21.

Good choice. I’m actually thinking about getting rid of my Large Inkosi Insingo for a Large 21 Insingo.

I feel my excitement level for the knife may be so high that the knife can’t live up to my expectations lol

You do have to be a little careful of that. It is a fairly simple knife, well made , that will give you years of service, but doesn't come with bells and whistles. Sometimes buyers are a little underwhelmed at 1st, but if that happens give it a chance and you will soon get it.
It's not going to wash the dishes, take out the garbage, or walk the dog. It is just a darn good knife and the fact that it marks an occasion for you will always make it special.

^^^^ This is good advice. The 21 grows on you. At first there is a “what the heck?” moment. Don’t let that phase you.

And please don't expect a thumb flicker.
It's not designed to be opened that way.
FWIW, I agree with many others that flicking it is one of the worse things that can be done.

This is something that has been hard for me to understand and I know it’s been hashed our before. I realize it’s not a good thing to do to the knife but that makes me wonder about flippers. If flicking a Sebenza is bad isn’t a clipper knife even worse?

I don't think you'd regret it, especially if after research you've decided for a particular model. Everyone has different tastes and some people love the Sebenza while others don't. For me it's in 4th place out of their folder lineup (excluding the Impinda which I haven't tried).
