I believe the same. I am in the tropics for long periods and the best machete for me is a 20 inch panga (with a 12 inch bush as backup). Nice but not the best option for hardwood branches that are hitting you in the teeth. I hope that the Res-C grip, shorter carry length and heavier blade will let me switch to just one blade when I am in the rainforest mountains here.

... but if I lived in a tropical climate the 1311 would appeal to me greatly as a machete role "knife". Destined to be one of the top Bussekin "users" for sure .... and a dream configuration for many :thumbup:
