Will the warranty cover this?

This thread has taken some interesting twists and turns.
I'm glad to see R.A.T. has taken measures to track warranty work, because I KNOW there are some a**es out there that will just TRY to screw it up for everyone. But reading this thread, and especially the excerpt above from Jeff's posting in another thread, or somewhere, makes me feel kinda guilty. Because in spite of my lack of common sense (IMO) and making a mistake (that DID NOT affect the steel of the knife in any way), R.A.T. fixed me up. And I learned something quite valuable. And if something happened to that knife (like it broke), I think I'd have to forego any warranty on it, because I feel I've already exercised that option on that knife. And besides, after the couple of threads that have been on here about broken knives, I WOULD feel like a dumb****.

That is unless that knife actually failed in some way whilst performing something heroic, so that I could brag on myself, and R.A.T. could brag on their knife. :D But that ain't gonna happen. I'm no hero. :o

I am just curious about what you posted here and would like to ask a question if you don't mind. :)

Do your knives just slip out of your hand or what?

Thanks in advance... :)

Once I was cutting with an small neckknife and my handle slipped and the blade got totally dulled from a short 3 foot drop and another time I was trying to close a large folder once handed.

I don't intend to abuse the knife and I really don't expect to ever use the warranty but it would just give me more confidence buying it if I know if I break the tip or hit a nail etc I am covered

~~ I tend to drop my knives into rocks A LOT ~~~

Oh Ok, I see; twice or so. That is what I'd call "a lot" too.... :D

But when you wrote "A LOT", I was just kinda curious ...... ;)

Have a good one........ :)

I think anyone who abuses this warranty should have their broken knife inserted into a not so friendly space :D

I only hope that those who would take advantage of such a wonderful company policy will remain far and few inbetween. That way those of us who wouldn't think of abusing such a privledge, can remain amazed that it even exsists.

well unfortunately some consider the term 'tool' and take it to heart.. I mean I'd NEVER use any knife as a hammer to pound a nial, or a to (install a door)?? As a tool it has its place and purpose as with all TOOLS... just simple logic I guess...
