Will You Be Here ?

While things are cooking - the kids will be playing the Wii - common denominator for the computer geeks and the neophytes in the house...

Hey Scott was that a new design that flashed up on your last post..............Or am I losing my marbles ?

I'll be checking in as we watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Packer's game.
Then it's off to friends for large quantities of l-tryptophan. zzzzzzzzzz

Speaking of birds, a few years back some friends hosted Thanksgiving dinner at their house. Lots of close friends, big bird, all your holiday trappings. Only problem was, they're Canadian. I am not claiming subterfuge, but they grossly underestimated the cook time on the turkey. That bad boy came out of the oven over two hours later than they had planned on, with a house full of starving people and it was downright RAW. Sure, it was a little crispy on the outside, but runny and raw close to the bone. I have a strong stomach, and I'll eat just about anything.....but I did not eat Turkey that day.

Rule of thumb 15 mintes per pound in a COVERED PAN. Also put some wine in the bottom. That makes for a moist turkey.

I'll be around, I'm my son's excuse, not to have to go to his GF's parents house.

Poor lonely old pop :p

We'll play with knives and other implements of construction. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving !

Last years turkey.

I will be with my CRAZY family................

HELP

What is it about holidays.

I always feel like the only sane guy in the asylum.

One year, I'm going to act nutty at the in-laws.

I'll act like I really see the "marshuns what is tryin' to send messages to our brains." (actual quote from Christmas '01, wife's aunt )

Then I'll put aluminium foil around my head and carve the turkey with my new FBM (thanks Mike).

It's going to take planning and determination to out "looney the loonies," but I think I can do it.

Had the big Thanksgiving dinner a day early at my house. Tomorrow is football, hiking, and hanging out.

I'll be on, off and on.

I say that with every FAMILY function.....Why do you think I am drinking tonight.....I am getting ready:):)

LOL! I know what ya mean Amy-O  I'll be here on an off, depending on what I am cooking at the time! HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL! We truely have a lot to be thankful for!

I'll most likely be checking in... No turkey for me... if I'm lucky, 'cause that means that I successfully avoided family contact... But I have plenty of Red Stripe lager on hand, and that'll be just fine. Wish me luck! :D

I'm here, off and on, so pretty much like most of the rest of the time. making carby things for friends and family, like you do.
amy, I'll give you a straight swap on crazy families. you'll be begging for yours back within the hour.

Wish I could bring a big old piece of turkey ... some taters and gravy ... and maybe some side dishes ... up to PA for you.

We'll settle for the next best thing, and raise a glass to you at 1:05 pm Eastern Time.

Thinking of you in Virginny. :D

Happy Thanksgiving all! I'm going to push the "trencherman" envelope this afternoon. Hopefully I won't have to :barf:, but I am prepared to do whatever it takes.
