Will you still be here next year?

This place is as informative as it is entertaining and ,sometimes, infuriating. I have gleaned too many useful bits of information, had too many AHAA! moments and too many chuckles to go away anytime soon.

I still read around. I don't post as much as I used to, but I still like some of the info that comes along.

Let me add my name to what will inevitably will be a long list of who's who, in the BF, I'll be here, this is one of the few places where I can communicate with like minded people.

I've learned a lot, and hopefully I've even given something back, if I answered a question, or I influenced a decision or choice, provide a good head scratcher, and made you think about something, and finally if I made you smile, or laugh once in a while, than being here is worth it,(including the Gold Membership).:D

May all your blades be swift, and all your edges keen.

I can't always post as much as I might like since I am back in Grad school and working now. But I always at least lurk. I can't even imagine not being a knife enthusiast. Once you see how useful and helpful folders, fixed blades, multi-tools, axes, etc...... are, you get a permanent case of the knife bug. :D

Para, you should post more often. Your responses are among some of the most interesting I have come across. I always appreciate them.
I recall those days when you were the moderator, your replies then were frequently enlightening, even at times mischevious but never dull!

The forums could only improve with your knowledge in this field where most of us are novices. :)

Dunno whether I will be here or not. Para had a pretty good summation there. I've been trying new forums to keep the interest up. Balisong forum, Gadgets and Gear, even the political forum. But I find myself putting out effort to keep interested.

Dunno.

Para has done a great job summing it up.

I'll be here for awhile yet; I don't post as often as I used to, and I sure don't have as much fun as I used to, but I still find some very useful, and informative information in the various forums, and since I started trading stuff this last summer, that has helped revive me a little.

I have met some great people here, and have met some not so great people as well. I can't say I have forged any friendships here, because I haven't. I try to fit in as best as I can, but it usually backfires on me, and being a moderator on the exchange forums makes me unpopular most of the time, so I guess I'll have to be satisfied with the way things are. I envy the people who make friends easily (here & in everyday life), because that is something that is very difficult for me, and has been since I was a young teenager.

I'm glad to see so many saying they'll be around; this place would be really boring otherwise.

Happy Holidays everyone!

:)

Yes, I will be here at BladeForums this comming year. I have learned a lot since I first showed up asking about collecting swords. I still have a lot to learn but one of my goals is to start to give back to the community by (correctly) answering some of the basic questions that come up. I'm also planning to attend the Blade show in Atlanta for the second time. For me these are the "good old days".

You ain't gettin rid of me that easily! I am lost without this place, and will be around for quite some time. :)

I'm sure I will be, barring a fatal accident or something equally horrendous. I've been here since January '01 (I think) and haven't posted a lot, comparatively (about 0.5 posts per day). I love it here, though - it's more mature and stable than most of my other forums, and just about everyone here is nice. :)

The one thing I have to say is: WE NEED MORE SMILEYS!! AND AVATARS!! (k, so that was two things :p)

Most likely! I usually stop by every day to see what's going on and I have learnt a lot from the great people here!

Merry Christmas and Happy Newyear!

The Porcupine (a.k.a. Bo)

I expect I'll be here. Stopping by Bladeforums is part of my daily regimen. I've always liked knives; I just didn't know how underknifed I was till I started reading here.;)

I will stand up and be counted as someone that will be here for a long time to come. What many here have said is true about things being different here now, compared to a few years ago. There seems to be certain factions that will get into pi$$ing contests over things that do not seem worth the anger or effort, but all and all this is still my favorite web based place to come and learn about knives.
I have learned that I still need to learn a lot more about knives. I know more about knives that anyone I have met working in local knife stores. I attribute that to all the info you fine folks have shared with me over the years. I appreciate Spark taking the effort to keep this place open for us to play in, and I will keep coming back and gleening information about our love (KNIVES). Of course this info has cost me dearly. :D It seems that the more I know, the more I spend on those things I have learned about. Oh well, it has been a fun ride and I hope it keeps going and growing! Happy and Safe Holidays to all of you!! Take Care. Rick out....................

I tend to read a lot more than I post (QuasiLurker) but I stop by when I can to catch up. I must also agree with ArchAngel than this forum has also cost me a lot of money :D However it has been fun and I will continue to visit.

May you and yours have a Happy Holiday season!!

This place has it all. If you want production knives we have representatives from most of the major companies. If you like antique knives we have Bernard Levine and several collectors willing to share their knowledge. Custom knives more your thing? We have several Guild members, ABS master smiths and journeyman smiths, AKI invited makers and several up and coming makers. Plus if you get the hankering to make your own knife these same fellas are always willing to help you out. If you are in a bad mood just read W&C or community and somebody will have posted something that will make your day. Feel like a good arguement? Head into political and those guys will argue with you all day over just about anything. :p

BladeForums is the best place on the net. If you can't learn or have fun here, its because you don't want to. I plan on being here a long time.

I stumbled upon this forum searching the Web for information on different types of blade steel for a fixed blade.....looking for a steel that would hold an edge longer that what I owned at the time.

The information I found at this forum was invaluable in helping me find the PERFECT knife for my individual needs.

I had no idea there were so many different types of blade steel available and the pros and cons of the many steels available.

I tried (purchased) many of those recomended by different members on this forum during my search.

I must say I was very pleasantly surprised at the response to any question I posted and the helpfulness of those willing to share their knowledge with me.

Mr.Stamp's extensive tests have been especially helpful and were influential in most of my purchases.

Although I have accomplished my goal of finding MY perfect knife, the interest that was perked by this forum keeps me coming back on a fairly regular basis.I am less likley to post now that most of my questions have been answered.....and although I have learned a great deal from the forum I have very limited knowledge of the subject at hand.

I did want to thank all of you for your willingness to share your thoughts and the help afforded in finding "my perfect knife".

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL,

GH

I agree with Para at the most of points – all changes and not always in good direction. This Forum changes also and not always in good direction as well.
So let’s live, let’s see...

However regardless of my presence here I will always remember great time I have spent here and a lot of knowledge I have obtained here. Thank you!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for Everyone!
