Wilson Combat/Scattergun Technologies VERY,VERY BAD!!!!!!!

No actually, the work had to be redone a couple times. It cost me alot of time shipping costs and my own money for the gun kote products to fix their mistakes. So I wouldn't say I ended up with anything free.It was an aggravating several months and I had to have a gun pretty much that I didn't even want to use because it was too upsetting to use a gun with finish that was just washing off.In the end the issue was resolved by my CC company and the work performed correctly by myself.I would have preferred to avoid the whole situation with Wilson Scumbat than have to have been put through this ordeal. In the end justice was served,no more,no less.

At one time the Wilson pistols were made by the same company that was making Kimbers and Chip McCormick pistols. They were the same gun, but charging twice the price for the name.

Anyone can purchase the track lock sites from Brownell's.

The gun industry can be very low at times. I am thoroughly amused that you were able to get your money refunded. I bet they are extremely pissed.

I thought that 870 package all these gun mags were trying to sell was much cheaper than $450. You can get the new, tricked out 870 from Remington for that, can you not?

Ya,I'm sure they are pissed. They thought I would just roll over after they tried to ram rod me.Buying the factory police model can be had with the trak-lok sights and parkerized, with factory mag extension etc.You can pretty much build your own for less money.I thought I would have a great end product and good customer service. That is the only reason I went with a company that I had thought was the best in the biz,but they suck!

I'm glad I came across this post, because I was seriously thinking about buying a Wilson shotgun in the near future. Based on the CS you received, I'll be taking my money elsewhere. I still can't beleive how rude that email they sent you was. I guess I'll end up bulding my own shotgun.

I must agree with most of the "negative" posts about WC. I have an OLD model WC Protector .45 and it shoots one ragged hole from 25 yards like it was nothing. It has NEVER failed to digest any ammo I feed it either. Function is flawless (so far) I also have a ST "Border Patrol" model 870 with the Armor-Tuf finish and have been very pleased with it. All that said, I have had bad experiences with WC's customer service too. I think they USED to be one hell of a gun mfg. However, if I were going to lay-out 2 grand for a pistol today, I would definetley go somewhere else. Les Baer, Kimber, Ed Brown, anything but WC!

Sorry to hear about all this, and also very interested as I was considering buying one of their 870's or sending my old tried and true duck gun to them for the upgrade. Now I think I'll hold off and explore the other possibilities I read about in this thread, with buying a Benelli outright or go to Vang.

FYI, I sent the frame of my custom 1911 to Robar to have the put their Roguard finish on it about 10 years ago. There was a problem with their procedure or something, and although the finish looked good when I got the frame back, it started flaking off of several areas of the frame. I sent it back to them, and they apologized and redid the job beautifully and it has been hard as nails now for at least 10 years; it looks great and protects like hell.

I ended up kind of shorting myself as I just sent them the frame and they charged me their normal flat rate to refinish it. They told me that if I had sent them the entire pistol, they would have coated all the internal parts with their proprietary NP3 coating, as well as Roguard the frame, all for the same price! They are a great outfit and as far as I'm concerned Wilson is not the same shop it once was. (I still am lusting after one of their CQB .45's, but think maybe after this info I'll see what Les Baer or Ed Brown has to offer!)

Thanks for the info and I'm glad it all worked out for you.

Regards,

Norm
