The clip design should allow for ease of switching it from one side to the other. Color should blend with the handle material in such that it should not take away or draw your attention from the beauty of the knife.
Needs to be secured with at least three screws(preferably allen-head)in a tip down style of carry. Good spring steel, cut out thru the center, skeletonized.

Found something else out that would make a clip alot more comfortable and convenient for in the pocket carry. Start the clip as close to the end of the knife as possible so when it's clipped in your pocket half the knife doesn't stick above the pocket.

Since a lot of the complaints about clips are the feel of the grip, how a bout an solid piece that snaps into the end of the knife with a ball detent on each side. Say the last 1/4" of the slab, or the whole end, snaps in/out, and has the clip protruding from the side. Once you draw the knife, you just snap the clip off and go. Then snap on and clip. I can pencil a drawing if it sounds interesting enough. But it's basically like the endpiece on a Vallotton Viper (MT HALO) but wiht a much tighter tolerance and strong enough ball detents.

Snap on (snap snap) snap off (snap snap) snap on snap off, the snapper. I'm gonna be famous
