Win A Free $700.00 Busse Custom Knife!!! . . . In The "Pig In A Poke" Contest. . . .

Limited editions are inherently special because they are limited. Different limited editions come with different options such as thicker or thinner stock, and different handle configurations, so there isn't really anything you could change that would make it more 'special' than 'limited edition' since it covers anything you would do to it. Unless 'special' indicates the method in which it's distributed.

The term series has been used in two groupings of knives recently, the BOSS and Light Brigade series. 'BOSS' stands for 'Busse Old School Series', and if you look at Jerry's poll for which LB model should come first, he uses the term 'Light Brigade Series' in the title.

I'm pretty sure EseeStatic and Mateo are right, and much faster than I was. 6 hours in is pretty late to be getting it =/

E = Eight
S = Series
If it's that simple, of course. Who knows though.

Jerry, has a winner been picked? I'm dying to hear what the acronym stands for, and to see if I won! Thanks again Bossman!

We're just waiting on Pokey to wade through them until she finds a winner. . .

By 3:00 am this morning she had received well over 1,500 emails. . . :eek:

There ought to be a winner in there somewhere. . . . . It was a fairly simple acronym compared to others that I have put up . . . . . :thumbup:

Good luck,

Jerry
.

I went for the painfully obvious.
Darn. Then you probably got your guess in before mine. Stupid girlfriend. "get off the computer baby, I can only stay for another hour." Damn good looking females and the power they have over us! I was ready with my guesses the minute I got the email.

Congrats if you won.

That's good to know, as one of my entries was fairly simple, :D. Thanks a lot for this opportunity Bossman & David!

I'm glad back scratchers are fairly simpler than knives!... yeah, I admit that was one of my guesses :(

I'd enjoy reading some of the more interesting or humorous suggestions that were actually sent in, if some of the ones that stuck out were shared I'm sure it would be good for a few laughs

So I found that "Pig in a Poke" used to refer to a swindle where people would sell low quality meat (dogs, cats) as high quality pork. Does this mean that this knife will be a Scrapyard knife dressed up in a Busse logo?

Nuclear Meltdown ... ... Scrapyard Limited Edition :D

Fair enough. My whole suggestion was Nuclear Meltdown Search and Rescue Extra Long Back Scratcher (Limited Edition). I knew that wasn't it, and I knew I wasn't gonna get it right (it's even more obvious now :grumpy:) so I also suggested Nuclear Meatball Spaghetti and something-something-something Bacon Sticks (Lavish Eats)

Jerry, can we assume all letters used remain true to any past use of that letter in that particular order? Like "NM" cause in that case we've never see a letter stand in for a number... ie: "E" for 8. Have we? That would throw that guess out... leaving it open to my "painfully obvious" use of the letter E.

...also.... (disagree if you want, that's half the fun)... the SAR 3, 6 and 8 were all melted with rounded edges, yet did not have the NM designation. Why would this modified, new version have the NM designation if its a feature that didnt change from the original versions?

While the sar series didn't have the NM designation attached to it, your correct that it did have the NM treatment. If you extend the description out to it's fullest they would be NMSAR3, 4, 6, 8. In this case, with all descriptors present it would be NMSAR8 +LBS +LE assuming it's a limited edition. I think a reason for not including it in the description initially is because there are no alternatives for that line. For the battle mistress line, theres the standard FBM, then theres the NMFBM. With the SAR line, there is only the NM version, so NM doesn't separate it from any other model within that line. Once you know the line, you know the standard feature set and assume it to be present on any continuation of that model in that line unless signified otherwise.

I would assume that it would go up as 'LBS SAR8LE' rather then the full acronym

actually I was going to bring up that it's been SAR3 SAR4 etc an not SART SARF
but I wasn't sure if those were official acronyms or not

SAR3,4,5,6,8 are the standard acronyms, but as this was a contest it makes sense to change '4' to 'four' or 6 to 'six' to make it a little harder. You should check out the past acronyms to see how convoluted/difficult they were :eek: (good times)

Well in that case... Jerry should have signed all the letters using standard ASL, making it truly difficult. :D
