I deserve it only because after evaluating it I would give it away to someone who needs a knife.

I deserve the knife because I don't have enough of them. 2 knives is _not_ enough!

I'm also a fairly decent person; I'm hardly rude to anyone, unless they're rude first; I return money that people drop; I help out wherever I can; and I volunteer at a local nursing home.

I also always try to punctuate and capitalize and spell properly, even when chatting on AIM or ICQ or something! :eek:

And, the most I've ever won in a contest was a stuffed animal. It wasn't even a _cute_ stuffed animal, either. :barf:

I would like to get the knife because i didn't have the possibility to test a Talonite blade yet. I am very interested in metallurgics, have access to university testing equipment and would like to compare it to other blade materials.

What is Talonite ??? Is it some kind of nocturnal hawk ....... Talon (some kind of wing creature etc. hawk) + in the Night (nocturnal).

Anyway sounds fun ... I'm game. Put me in for a buck.

DESERVE v. To be worthy of: merit. Earn.

How does one deserve a nice Talonite knife like this? Does a lack of knives or funds to purchase them consititute a need that somehow makes a person deserving? Well then perhaps it should go to a homeless person, or someone so laden with debt that he couldn't pay the shipping costs.

No, that's not it.

Would deserving the knife require a deep, burning desire to own it? Well, then perhaps the knife should go to a compulsive collector - the kind of person that can never have enough of anything.

No, that's not it either.

I suppose the person who deserves the knife most is the person that has done the most for those who are giving it away. Unfortunately, that person isn't me.

That said, I'm thankful for the opportunity to at least be eligible for consideration.

Sorry, I don't see Talonite replacing steel any time soon. But it appears to have some unique qualities such as total corrosion resistance, easy to sharpen, holds a good edge a long time. I've got a buddy who could use something like that since I have to sharpen all his knives every time we go hunting together.
 
Camillus has done a wonderful job putting the EDC together, and the one I have in 154CM has been an awesome knife.

I need the Talonite version to go with my other one, so it's mystical powers rub off, and give it more of that 'sheeple friendly' karma. :D

I don't think I deserve it more than anyone else, but I'm entering anyway. Its been a slow couple of months for me and my knife accumulating.
