Winchester Fixed Blades

Here are a few of my "cheaper" knives that folks around here might scoff at, but I still love em!

The truth is that Winchester knives are pretty crappy.:barf:

Anybody who carries a winchester knife is most likely a rookie knife guy.

As I mentioned in my original post, this was when I first moved to the USA. Believe me the Winchester was a major step up from the original Assegai - LOL. Since joining "BladeForums" I have learned a lot. It is amazing how many quality and custom knives are out there. As I am not the great white hunter I am still looking and learning as to what quality blade I would like to buy.

I LOVE threads like this, they let all the guys who spend $800 on a knife and open letters with em' speak up as to how wonderful they are. Nice work, there's another guy that'll go to another forum

"I mean reaaaally, how dare this plebian offend our delicate steel sensibilities with such offal as what he started with? Winchester? How tres Gauche' !!
I'd comment more on his obvious nouveau riche status, but I'm having my buttcheeks shaved with an invaluable small sword owned by Washington and on loan from the Smithsonian."

Hang around OP, there's a HELL of a lot more of US than there are of THEM, we just don't yell as much. ;)

I think pretty much everyone understood exactly where the OP was coming from. No need to get hostile.

Seriously man? I rarely post against someone, but seriously?

My dad has carried a "crappy" USA Schrade SP-3 for the past 30+ years. It's a $12 knife and totally below most people on this forum. My parents farm and I'll bet you that knife has seen more hard use than 95% of the ZTs on this forum.

You may try to back pedal now, but I think your first impulse was to be smug and condescending. Not cool man.

In closing, please don't ever buy one of my knives. I don't want your business.

OP, please go to this thread and look at the options. Pick what you want and I'll make it, no charge. You'll be added to the end of the first batch list, but you'll get one. Be sure to send me an email or PM so I have your info. Don't post your options in the thread.

UGLR4,

I've always had a soft spot for Winchester firearms. That's all my dad had when I was a little boy. Nice looking knife, hope you enjoy.

I am fairly new on this forum, don't know the players, but want to apologize on behalf of ppl I don't even know. Unfortunately this is the nature of almost all forums. Autonomy, a keyboard, and ppl instantly have an alter ego. The funny thing is, if you ever actually meet some of these types, it's almost hilarious.

Welcome to the states, lot of great ppl here!

Brian, classy. Says a lot about your person. Can't wait to check out you offerings.

I never said USA Schrade knives are crappy. Now you are putting words in people's mouths.

I like the old Winchester shotguns a lot........The winchester knives are not made by the same company that makes their firearms, I have my opinion about the lack of reliability in particular knife brands and then a few people get offended like a bunch of sensitive pussies.

Nah, I'm not offended by your opinion about the lack of reliability in particular knife brands. I'm annoyed that you felt the need to be a pretentious prick about the fact that Winchester knives are low quality knives. Yeah, they are. So what? The OP bought a knife that appealed to him at the time and was taking a trip down memory lane and wanted to share it with everyone. The way you approached it was messed up. Now you're calling the gentlemen in this thread pussies, further lowering my and I'm assuming a lot of other people's opinion of you, not that you care. Why are you so upset about what someone else carried at a different time in their life? I carried a $12 S&W tanto/serrated linerlock in Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. I loved that knife and thought it was totally cool. It was to me then and I'd be pretty hurt if I tried to show off that knife and talk about the memories attached to it and the first response in the thread was to crap on my parade. THAT is what we "pussies" are offended by.

It reminds me of guys that ride Harley's 20 days a year looking down on me riding a Honda Shadow 250 days a year. Honda<Harley and Harley automatically makes you a "real motorcycle guy?" See the parallels?

Ride your ride. Carry your carry. Who cares man?

I would never buy a knife from a faggot that acts so delicate and offended at someone else's opinion on winchester knives.......stop pretending you are a big time knife dealer.:D

Brain, This is very kind of you to do this for the OP.

If I ever need a small custom FB, You are now on my list of makers.;)

About Winchester knives. I never would buy one for myself, however, I recieved a Winchester fixed blade as a Xmas gift last year. My boss puchased ten of them at a local store for seventy-five cents a piece when they were on close out. He gave them only to family and close friends. He says that he still has couple left. I am honored to have one.

I have to agree, they are not the best knives for the money, however, they still cut. That's the bottom line.

I'm not a big time knife dealer. I've done exactly one offering on this forum. In fact I'm a relatively new knife maker. I feel like I offer good value and a good product and apparently so did the people who chose to support me in the first batch order. I'm not, nor will I ever, pretend to be something I'm not. I do have a midtech that hopefully will be done around May, which I'm excited about. That's been a lot of fun.

I do want to ask, why the name calling? Why would you call me a bundle of sticks? Or, perhaps you were assuming that calling me gay would be a slur against me? I happen to be straight, married with five kids. However, I know and work closely with a bunch of gays and lesbians. Goes back to ride your ride, carry your carry, and love your love.

It is not advisable, Woodcamo Nut, to venture unsolicited*opinions. You should spare yourself the embarrassing discovery of their exact value to your listener.

What in the world made you think that anyone wanted to read that?

You are entitled to your opinion, and to share it, but have some dignity about it.

Nut,

To try to communicate in your vernacular, don't be a sensitive pussy when your called out for being a dick.

Outstanding gesture! Very gracious. It's people like you that make this forum shine!

See, this is where the English language is way off. Think about what a vagina can do. Childbirth, intercourse, all sorts of stretching, etc. Never phases it. Ever get tapped ever so gently in the wrong place on your testicles? Instant, down for the count pain. So we should really call weak men testicles.....or nuts.......

I think everything that guy has said has completely backfired on him. He would have been fine had he just said " ah, my bad, i wasn't trying to be offensive. I didn't think about the dude just strolling through memory lane. I was just commenting on the quality I've seen in winchester knives and wanted to warn new people who may not know."
