This is an awesome idea! Here are my two favorite designs that I have drawn recently... If I ever got to make my own knife, these are what they would look like.

This is a design inspired by a canadian belt knife. Roughly a 4 inch blade.

This knife is inspired by a knife that already exists. The one I have is very tactical, and I feel like it would make a awesome looking bowie if it was more traditional in apprearance. It looks good with a sabre style handle and with a coffin styled handle. I picture it in a leather scabbard tucked crossdraw behind the belt of an old west Lawman. The blade would be 7 to 8 inches long. The handle about 5. I tweaked some of the shape a little. I the first picture, I think the proportions are just right. In the bottom picture I think the height from the edge to the spine may be a little tall.

Part Inuit ULU,, part gut hook skinner, it's the GULU
about 8-1/2" of meat making O1 steel.
I think the perfect handle slabs would be walrus ivory, but ivory micarta will have to do!

this was my entry in an earlier jk design contest. I held onto it thinking i would order one some
day. It's my vision of a jk puukko. The tang slightly extends the handle in case you would need to
tap on the knife. I keep going back and forth on the thickness but know john's heat treat can make
1/8" steel take some unbelievable hard use. I also thought about making it a straight back but dropped
the tip a little to get it closer to the center line of the knife.

would like to see this traditional with a full but hidden top and bottom tang. Love the simple lines, nice.

This right here is pretty much my grail for EDC. Its blade is under 3 inches so no possible legal issues even if I need to cover the handle and sheath with my shirt in non knife friendly areas or where it may make people to uncomfortable. It has a full size handle with sufficient swell to be able to keep a good grip. A nonthreatening wharncliffe style blade, yet one that still has a tip for any piercing and a full flat grind for good slicing. Also it has micarta handles and brass hardware which over time takes on a personality of its own.

sEEING QUITE A FEW WC AND SEMI WC BLADES LATELY. WONDER WHY? THIS IS A NICE LOOKING DESIGN.

The Canadian is just toned down enough to be differant from an original, sort of a North Dakota, conservative Lutheran take on the Canadian, eh. Me likes it

luv the coffin handle bowie!, i would do it in pins rather than rivets but that's just me.

Very nice, what thickness do you invision? What purpose to the design? Skinner? Utility?

I was thinking 1/8" or possibly a hair thicker. The profile is good for skinning, or any other work where being able to choke up on the blade may be necessary. I also like the deep choil for protection in any instance where extra force was needed, as there is zero risk of riding onto the blade in this design.

LIKE THIS, WOULD LOVE IT IF HOLLOW GROUND. Nice lines.
Any design/function/purpose notes?

Inspired by a Benchmade folder I've carried nearly every day since my girlfriend (now wife of 11.5 years) gave it to me 13 years ago. I think this design would make for a comfortable in the hand, capable, do everything knife. A "jack of all trades" full size belt knife with a unique profile.

Working on scale drawings of:

DOUBLE EDGED SAFETY DAGGER (CHILDPROOF FIGHTER).

I may just send plans and design to Farooq & Khan's Stainless Pakistan Cutlery & Trinket Co.
or

Maybe I'll reveal it here at a later date.

I gotta go to the emergency room now, I have been working on the BOOMERANG THROWING HAWK prototype and there are still some issues.
Boomerang Throwing Knife on hold for a while also.
Sure is quiet around here since JK started that other job.

Like I said no obvious stabby pointy end so it doesn't immediately scream weapon. Makes people feel less anxious when you use it to cut open a pallet in a grocery store. Heck I even used one the other day in the middle of a gas station to open a case of something and only got about a half second glance from the cashiers. Then there's the people that will be uneasy of your "tactical assault fixed blade stabbing implement" no matter what, but who cares about them.

Iris woke us up at about 3am and hasn't been to sleep yet, decided to doodle while I waited and bubble guppies played in the background
