Winner announced! design a knife thread

Hammer it thru a cinder block
chop thru a wall

Punch it thru a car door
ultra tough severe duty knife

I'm partial to hard use blades so I think this is the winner. I would prefer to see it with a cord or leather wrapped handle and would be okay with jimping instead of an indention for my thumb. Overall still my favorite.

This knife definatly lends itself to a cord wrap handle option, but in my minds eye, the grip scales in the rounded profile and the milled grooves reminds me of my old, rough duty, Ithaca and Remington pump shotguns with the corncob style pump handles.

I'll have to pick a winner(s) here today so get posting if you have anything left. I'll chose by 10pm tonight.

...a darned fine whittler! One of the joys of squirrel hunting is that a man gets to sit in the woods, in nice weather, and whittle, as long as you keep your hands somewhat hidden, the whittling sounds seems to arouse curiosity in Fox Squirrels. I would like to see this knife in one of the HK collaborations with a two tone handle in Buckeye Burl and Walnut, or flamed Oak and hickory.

I'll ask what everyone is thinking. Have winners been picked yet? You're killing us with the suspense.

...hell if I know, I liked them all, I asked john for some expert feedback and he help narrow it down for me a little :) Everyone was a great idea we'd both like to see in steel, but there has to be a winner,

1. Winner: fishiker

for entry number 15, the Puukko (fishiker)

What did ya win: "I'll pay half the cost of the knife from john." cut out the template, send it to john and tell him your preferences for handle, thickness, pins etc. We'll pay half each.

2. Runner up: I actually picked 2, sorry, there both awesome, congrats youngcurmudgeon and thatdamnsasquatch

youngcurmudgeon for entry in post 19 (the top one_ I also liked his number 17, btu I have a soft spot for smaller knives

thatdamnsasquatch for entry number 27, this just looks like it'd be ultra useful to have around knife doesn't it!

What do ya win "who I'll offer to put a handle and sheath on their knife for free, so they only have to buy the blank from john if they want it."

BUT WAIT.......

Finally, B Jackson I love the "That's Just Nuts" and all your descriptions. You mentioned making the TJN as a HK, if you cut out the blade blank and get it to john I'll ask if John can add one to my next batch and I'd be happy to do it.

Sorry for the late announcement everyone! My wife ad to sue the computer to "work", yeah, I thought it sounded fishy too but I looked it up and it's really a thing ;)

Yeah Ide like to know which design was picked too!

hey, Riz2530, I really liked your CBK design, but John already has pretty good CBK, and I don't want to see the motivation for you to make it yourself taken away...yeah, the designs were all so good I had to come up with reason like this to chose between them.

I guess John will let us know how much a blank would cost? Trying to figure out how to scrape the funds together if I can. :p

Thank you Peter! And thanks to the other designers for not making fun of my drawing skill.
Oh. and thanks for not making fun of my GULU design, you should have called me out on it though, as it wasn't serious, well, once I got sober, it wasn't serious.

Congrats to the other winners , my 2 favorites shared the second prize! But I can't wait to see the finished Puuko that took first
Cutout will be sent to John!

Not sure what to say other than I am honored you picked mine and thank you very much. Now the real test, it's been many years since I attempted any arts and crafts. Hopefully John can can do something with the cutout I make.

Congratulation fishiker. That is an excellent design and your drawing skills are to be commended. Thank you KYenglish for the contest and to Mr. K for allowing it.

Congrats. I love looking at new designs. All were great! I like that badassed chopper too.

Congrats to the winners and thanks again all who entered.

John tells us the costs of the knives and blanks, he'll have to have those cut outs sent to him before he can quote a price however.

Sorry the prizes couldn't be more, they all deserve to be made.

The cut-out is in the mail. Cutting that silly thing out of cardboard was much harder than I thought it would be. Of course, if I had found "real" scissors instead of using my 3.5 year old's safety scissors maybe it would have been easier.

Awesome. That's fast work! I heat you on the cutout its like going back to arts and crafts in school. I pit a lot of faith in John's ability to see what I mean with my shoddy drawings and cutouts. :)
