Yikes! I'm thankful we don't have to deal with any of these critters in VT.

What is it? Some sort of fancy coffee making thingy?

great pics.

Looks like a hog nose snake to me. It will act like a cobra then if all else fails will put on one of the best death acts of the critter kingdom.

lol. well, it sure looks threatening....just like it planned, i suppose. ;)

MAN! I would LOVE to visit everyone of these places. Some of you are very fortunate to have such beautiful country in your backyard.
I'm from WV, where the men are men and the sheep are scared but I'm stuck in the FLATLANDS of Central Ohio. It's so stinking flat up here.
I'll try to make it back down to "Almost Heaven" and take some pics. Oh, please count me in!

Finally made it to the river today. Wildlife was abundent but the fish weren't biting.

Almost picked him up for bait but... nah.

My lunch spot was taken so I had to stop on a different part of the gravel bar.

The wildlife that had taken my usual spot...

Picture of sunrise staying in a tent drunk the other night . Some other boring crap. Will get some better pics soon of something worthy. We can post as much as we want here right?

There's nothing like the hills of Pennsylvania to me. They look like home, and they are. I drove through some very cool little towns, stopped at an "off the map" bait/sporting goods/gun/knife shop, and passed through elk country (specifically benezette, and saw a velvet calf) on the way home yesterday.

Oh yeah, it's a big attraction. That is, as least in a local kind of way. People in my area, which is about 1.5-2 hours from the actual elk reserve, go to see the elk and camp in that area. I only saw one, the velvet calf, but it was very rainy and stormy. Sometimes they are all over. There's an official elk visitor center, and lots of little campgrounds and lodges.

There are also elk outside of that specific reserve area. We see them every now and then around my camp, which is on the west branch of the Susquehanna (closest town is called Karthaus, closest place someone might have heard of is Clearfield).
