Oh yeah, it's a big attraction. That is, as least in a local kind of way. People in my area, which is about 1.5-2 hours from the actual elk reserve, go to see the elk and camp in that area. I only saw one, the velvet calf, but it was very rainy and stormy. Sometimes they are all over. There's an official elk visitor center, and lots of little campgrounds and lodges.
There are also elk outside of that specific reserve area. We see them every now and then around my camp, which is on the west branch of the Susquehanna (closest town is called Karthaus, closest place someone might have heard of is Clearfield).
I just looked it up to see where it was at. and, i checked the PA game commission too, to see season dates, and to learn more about it. thanks for the info.
