WINNER --- Downsize GAW #6, A Special One to leghog

Not an entry because I just won another one of your GAWs, but I wanted to say that your whittling "attempt" is amazing!!

Thanks for the chance!!
Don't have the knife anymore, but the ball in cage sits on my desk.

Awesome carving skills and GAW. I wish I could do that. Please count me in.

Here is my first ongoing attempt at a caged ball. Obviously, I can only get better. :o

Not an entry but I wanted to say that was a nice whittling job you did on that walking stick leghog.

Some real nice whittling going on here. Not an entry, but if I post pictures of stuff I've turned would that count? Just kidding, although I did make something like 10+ bowls when I got married for the folks who stood up with us(can't say groomsmen cause 2 of my 3 were ladies, including my best "woman") :D. Looking good, need to see more entrants and pics though! ;)
Thanks, Neal

leghog, thanks for offering an opportunity at another classic.:thumbup:
I'm in, please.
I'm sort of in shock and awe each time I see the photo of that walking stick you crafted! Man, that is fantastic work!
I'll include a photo of some attempts I've made at whittling. I hope to eventually get more time to do it, because I enjoy it even if I'm not very skilled/talented.

Good luck to all the entrants! :D

Better than I can do

Not an entry. Good luck to all the contestants.

A most generous contest, but if you want to give it a quiet retirement, best not send it to me. I'd give it a workout. I've done balls in cages and chains, so one day I got a hare-brained idea to do a chain of balls in cages.

:eek::eek::eek: Wow! Color me impressed.

Not an entry as I've been the recipient of too much generosity latly. But love following ur GAW s

I've not used a folder for any major whittling yet, just little sticks while camping or hiking. I really want to though. For some reason I just haven't. Guess I need to get on that.

I'm in. When I was a Boy Scout (mid to late 1960's) my Dad was one of our Assistant Scoutmasters. He really enjoyed wood carving and bought a bunch of pre-cut shapes to carve; he gave me a bag of them 15 or so years ago. A few years back I pulled one out to carve it - an Indian Chief letter opener - I did it with the Sheepfoot blade - my only carving since I was a boy! OH

I really appreciate the entries. I'm a strong believer that we should use our knives which is one of the reasons I'm downsizing. Just too many folders I haven't used in a long time or just haven't gotten around to using.

Winner is 5K Qs. Please email me your snail mail addy. bill_

Enjoy the knife and endeavor to use it, at least occasionally.

Hey! This was a happy to surprise to wake up to when I fired up BF for breakfast!:cool:
Thanks very much, leghog, for the generous series of GAWs you've been running! I'm thrilled to be the lucky winner of that Case half-congress!
I'm with you on wanting to use the knives I own, and I've set up a schedule so that every knife I have gets carried and used. But I feel rather silly that most knives only get pocket time about twice a year.

I sent an email with a shipping address. Please let me know if it doesn't show up. Thanks again!

Got your email. I'll endeavor to get it in the mail to you at lunch tomorrow. I'll then send you a USPS tracking number.

Thanks for participating.
