Just a quick update. The half-congress that leghog so generously put up for grabs arrived on Wednesday and it's a phenomenal little knife. :thumbup:

It's my first example of a half-congress and I really like how slender it is with the single spring. Here are a couple of photos of the knife I took this week.
The "CASE XX" on the tang of the sheepsfoot indicates 1940-1964 manufacture, I think. The tang of the pen blade shows the model number. I like the little "relief" cut into the edge of the pile side cover to allow better access to the nail nick on the pen.
As leg hog pointed out in his OP, the covers have slightly different colors, with the pile side being a little darker and richer than the mark side. The knife also arrived with blades that I considered impressively sharp!
