A small giveaway offered as a token of appreciation for the friendship and support I have received from friends here on the forum following the passing of our beloved Weimaraner, "Smoky" back in July.
He was as good a companion as anyone could ever have wished for in a four legged friend. I know many of you here have experienced both the same special friendship and sense of loss in its wake.

The knife being offered is a Case 3299 1/2 (8 Dot, 1972) pattern. This is a classic old jack pattern that I purchased here on the forums some years ago. It has been lightly sharpened and is ready to be placed in a pocket and put to work.

The Fine Print:

In order to qualify for this giveaway you must be a regular and contributing member of this forum AND be willing to put the knife in your pocket and use it.

We'll leave this drawing open until next weekend and then select a winner via some random fashion or other. Good luck and thanks.

Gone but never to be forgotten. RIP, beautiful boy.

I joined earlier this year and only saw a few of his posts, but all of them were so full of knowledge and wit. He was always willing to help,he'll be missed. I would love to carry this knife in his offer and thank you for this give away

Smoky was a talented dog in many ways but to the best of my knowledge he didn't have a membership nor ever post here on the forums. Thanks for your interest in any case.

Being a dog lover/owner all my life, I know exactly what you are talking about. What a perfect gesture for Smokey's memories. I'd be proud to own this knife.

Sorry for your loss Blues. I missed this info before.

Not an entry. Cannot comply with carry condition:D

Its a sad thing that our dogs has so short lifes. They often take big room in our harts. Also i have vent that way With à few fourlegged friends of whome i mostly remember 3. I would carry a knife like that. Nice to see your post even though the sad reason. Bosse

Not an entry but I do want to offer my sincere condolences for the loss of Smoky. I love my dogs very much and really understand how hard it can be when we lose one. Having gone through it several times I have not managed to find any words of wisdom to offer or any great insights.
What I did experiance was a feeling of great loss that got a little easier each day until I was finally at peace with it.

Jim

I'm not in this as I do a lot more reading than contributing, but I did want to say that I'm so sorry for your loss. My best friend died on August 12th and even though I had tried to prepare myself emotionally for it to happen, I couldn't. It has been so hard to deal with. I know exactly where you are coming from and I just wanted to say I'm sorry.

Jim, there is a lot of truth and wisdom in those words. It has been my experience as well...some days better than others. Thank you for expressing it here.

I'm terribly sorry for your loss and very much appreciate your words...as I do all of those who have experienced the same. Thank you.

Elliott, I wanted to wish you my deepest condolences again for the lost of a friend. As we have talked about before, our family lost a four legged companion this year too. Our "little" bulldog Chubs. We still feel pain from the loss. We recently had the opportunity to buy a new four legged buddy who, although he can't replace our old pal, hopefully will fill that void of four legged companionship. We have named our new little puppy Blue, which I thought you might like (not named after your user name, it just fit him).

Hopefully the next folder coming off my bench will help lift your spirits. ;)

Please don't consider this an entry.

Jared, the loss of your dog was a heart rending tale which my wife and I have discussed several times. Our hearts went out to you for that terrible loss.
Though I know your new pal's name is unrelated to my handle, I'm pleased in any case.
As for our upcoming project, it makes me smile every time I think of it. Thank you my friend.

Sorry for your loss. I know how it feels to lose a loved pet. Hang in there it gets better with time ~

I love my dogs more than most people I know and would be proud to carry and use that big ol' jack!

The loss of a dog is devastating and nearly as hard as loosing a two legged loved one, if not just as much. Sorry for your loss.

I'm in and thanks for the chance!

I know how hard it is to lose a pet, it's a shame they don't live as long as we do.

I'm sorry for your loss. We lost our lab a few years ago and still miss her. Thanks for the chance at a nice knife.

Sorry for your loss, Elliott. Condolences from my part of the world.

Thanks for the chance on such a beautiful knife - a real classic piece!

image.jpgMy dog Coco, is 15 now. A Black Lab/Bull Terrier mix. I'm already preparing myself for that sad day.

Awesome chance at the Case thank you.

We have 8 rescue dogs that I usually feel are better companions than humans, our latest adoptee "Doug" he came to live with us back in April. His druggie mom couldn't be bothered to keep him in the yard. He is pretty sure he is my lap dog..

Hi pal,

Once again, let me say that you and Tina have my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of Smoky. I have an idea how much he meant to you, and I always enjoyed seeing his photo (PC Smoky in particular) :)

Not an entry as there are others with emptier pockets than me, seeing you post here again, and knowing you know you have friends here, is a gift in itself, sad though recent circumstances have been.

Smoky is no doubt chewing on a fat juicy bone, and dog-chuckling in anticipation of the thought of you being run ragged by some young pup. I know he'll never be replaced, but hope you and the missus can find another companion to let into your lives before too long, and to get you off the couch now and again my friend ;)

I'm drinking the smokiest of malts and toasting Smoky. Here's to him :)

Jack
