Winners #27 & #45 - Dumb Contest - Drawing 8/22

#3 Bought a drill chuck off ebay "used everything functions as it should" HA HA chuck wouldn't close, stuck half way.

Was sharpening a knife I made when I was 14 or so and right as I finished I sliced the back of my thumb open, and had no feeling on half my thumb for about 5 years

The dumbest thing I have ever done as a knifemaker is open Mark's lot sized deal threads! I haven't been able to make knives this year but that doesn't stop me from getting 2 big boxes from him after ordering gidgee scales (plural, how many is secret). Telling the wife ahead of time is the hard part and why it is stupid to get big boxes from Mark. Momma better find out before Daddy gets the package in or else the streets have an extra bum, so it doesn't leave long to come up with a reason!

another stupid move was putting scales on and drilling the holes threw one side then putting the other scale on and drilling all the holes but forgot to drill the lanyard hole ,it appeared all the holes were drilled being the side up toward me had them all drilled,i hammer in a the pins & then drive the lanyard tube in only to bust the back scale in half, in a hurry? yea! pissed off? yea! stupid

I am a few minutes early but here are the winners.

Thank you Mark, congrats Stinky, and thanks to everyone for sharing their tales of misfortune and foolishness :D :thumbup::thumbup:

Shucks I missed again:(

Congrats to the winners now go make something nice and sharp:thumbup:

PS do not set yourself on fire or cut, stab, or impale yourselves while doing it:p

I think the winners should give themselves the prizes and put them on a personal knife as we know with all of the karma behind this thread that something interesting will happen in the construction of the new knives. Mark- if something thread worthy happens to the scales are you going to start a "what is the dumbest thing that you have done with a Dumbest Thing contest prize thread?". ;)

Congrats and thanks for all of the great stories.

The Koa arrived a couple days ago, along with some Metallic Figured Redwood and Redwood Burl that I could not resist, all 3 are more beautiful than pics can show, holographic. I'll put them on knives but I'll have to grind something pretty special to be worthy of these pieces.

Thanks again Mark.
