This pic was from the eve of the third day, all done throughout the day. The only splitting at night was just on the first night and only what was necessary, it was snowing and all that was available to burn was green pine and hemlock, which also made for a crappy fire. The pile in the pic was dogwood and a bit of fatwood. Made for a much warmer fire.
