Winter Hobby.....................Building AR15

I've built a couple. Mostly just plain jane 5.56's. I have used assembled uppers and pieced together uppers, depends on time and money, and what parts I've traded for. Been working on building ak47s more lately, lot of cheap parts and goodies to build those with too. Only gun I'm working on at the moment is my daughters new glock 26. Need to do a trigger job and extended slide release on it. Maybe some tritium sights later.

Did this one on a ESEE lower a year or so back

It would be fun to do a run of Busse hog lowers sometime.

Where did you get the multi-cam rails?

I'm looking to put a Ruger gas piston 5.56 upper with my Rock River AR15 lower, plus miscellaneous Magpul parts to complete my first AR15 build early this year, if I can stop buying Busse-Kin long enough that is  :D

Here's another build I did. This is one of my long range rifles.

It's got a VERY heavy barrel on it!

They are like big toys! And the more toys, the better.....

Mr. Brown,
I believe AR = Armalite. Eugene Stoner used them to manufacture the early models. Some also believe it stands for automatic rifle.
The lower is considered the "gun" does not matter if stripped, complete, assembled or functional.
The huge accessory market for these uber popular sportting rifles makes toying with them hella fun. I think you already know that.
As for machining loweres, I would be sure to talk with a class 2 holder. It gets tricky, that is why I buy my lowers stripped but thru an FFL.

Nice guys. Great to see all the variety. Should have another one done here in a few days. Keep the pics coming. I need some new ideas.

Some nice AR builds.

This my only AR build. Started with a Spikes Tactical M4A3, I added the Daniel Denfense rail, Tango Down grips, GG&G BUIS

But, why mess with PERFECTION?

Sweet ARs

A goal of mine in 2012 if I have the cash would be to build a Spike's Tactical AR, well, get a complete lower and a complete upper and slapping them together. That's building right? :D ;)

I've got a few done and about half a dozen stripped lowers to work on. I've wanted a pistol in the worst way but the shorter barrel really cuts the nuts off the round.

But yes, I've been building them for a few years. Ironically, I'm not the biggest fan of AR's. Go figure.

I recently put a Nikon M-223 scope on mine and love it. Worth every dime. I had a nice holographic Lucid HD 7 on it but was just not accurate enough at distance. Also, Mako accessories are worth the money spent.

Gatorzingo,
Nice pieces you have there. How does your "Perfection" shoot? I have been looking at getting one but have not had a chance to try one out.

Got a couple been slowly building, send pictures later, hey Gatorzingo who makes that mag drum?

That's a Beta Mag. Earlier ones were VERY picky and malfunctioned alot. I have heard recent ones are better. Plus you get 100rds on tap. You need more firepower than that you better pray for reinforcements.

Cavelry Arms used to make pink furniture, but it disappeared from the market several years back. But now it's back (from CavArms and other manufacturers), so I think it's time for a "Barbie" or "Hello Kitty" AR build. For my wife. Really.

More of a disassembly/reassembly - Colt MT6400C with MOE handguard and grip, IWC front sling mount, Troy rear sling mount, Sully Stock, EOTech EXPS-2 holo sight and LMT fixed rear irons. Sorry for the bad photo.
