They are grey.i think I'll keep them as is. It's really easy for the end user to buff them if they want.

Well, I just finished my entry, what I call the large hunter, it's a drop point hunter in D-2 with Acacia wood scales--these scales were harder than any Acacia I've fooled with before, but they buffed up really well and they should be really durable handles for this knife. I didn't use any finish except carnuba wax and the buffer! I am still working on my sheath making skill-set, most of my for sale knives I have the sheaths made for meI hope the receiver likes this style knife and it gets some use, and doesn't throw up over the self made sheath
