not had much time over finals week (physics and drafting finals today *freaking out*) however, i do have the handle sanded smooth, the pin in, and the carving drawn on.

Looks great! I really like the satin look I have seen on some original blades of similar design but alas I am but a rank amateur.
Great work I could only aspire to this level of expertise.:D

Keep the pictures comin'...
I so look forward to ALL of your AWESOME CREATIONS as they are unfolding, my Friend!
Thanks for sharing your GIFTED PASSION & ART...
YOU ROCK, SWEETIE!!

Really beautiful, Chris. Love the flow of the handle to sheath. A+++ work. Can't wait to it finished out.

that is nice , amazing . Would have made a nice Naganita blade . There is your next challenge Chris .

thanks guys!
i have thought about doing a naganita blade, however.... i dunno.. just never got around to it. sounds like a new project!

... looks closest to my mouth hitting the floor, that handle is amazing!

keep up the work, your making me jealous. btw, I'm pretty new here, but I've been doing knives for around 2 years, and was just wondering, do you grind or forge?

thanks! i am happy with how it turned out, so far, and hope to make it better.

grind or forge? i do a little of both. i am not very good at forging, and my grinding is so-so... but i dabble in both.

i was thinking about texturing the lowest recess (the one around the pin) and the round part of the butt, like dan farr does with his knives. what do you think? textured or smooth?

thanks so much!
~Chris

I vote for textured. It will give it more dimension and enhance the craftsmanship.

textured. that will make that knife just THAT much more interesting! what a beaut!

Wow Chris that is turning out great-thanks for taking the time to post the wip pics:thumbup:
