Wish GEC would make these patterns....

Another vote for a 3-3/4" sowbelly. Their 440C in elk stag or ram's horn would be VERY nice!

Sub 3" pen
Bare-head swell jack

I love GEC but their patterns all seem big. I have a Cuban 3 blade and its HUGE, thick and hard to carry. Even their shorter patterns are thick and heavily built.

A Surveyor would be an interesting and unusual pattern too.

But I'm interested in their forthcoming Half-Whittler as well.

+1 It's time for a GEC camper (scout)! They could use the 53 frame for a large or the White Owl frame for a junior, I'd be happy with either one.

Especially the White Owl size. I wish they would go ahead with this so I could quit buying so many knives.

I would love it if the GEC forum knife with the main blade and cap lifter went into regular production. I'm sorry I missed the boat on that one.

A GEC scout pattern would be neat too.

I tend to agree. I've traded away my pocket brick GECs and only kept my #25 Barlow.

Actually the 3-7/8 trapper (#48 IIRC) is pretty thin. But, GEC does tend toward the thick side. At least the ones I've been able to put my hands on.

Every now and then we bring out one of these "wishing well" threads...it's great to dream, isn't it?
So, since we are talking...
A coke bottle with a spear main (and eventually a pen secondary) would be a nice idea.
A camper on the #68 frame would turn out pretty nice as well.
A new version of the #66 / #56 / #76 jacks with a wharncliffe secondary would be very welcome...especially in 440C.
I'd also like GEC to browse the "old knives catalogs" thread on BF to find inspiration in the 3"-3,5" range.

Yep but GEC is making progress. It just may take a few years for all that we want. I got my 440c #48s recently, we have a wharncliffe trapper coming although not on the #48. Those wanting a larger barlow will get one soon too.

As of now, I still want a #48 jack like the one I had redone in Lignum. I can do 1095 and 440c and would like ebony. I know the 440c models tend to only use materials made in America so I'd get cherry or walnut and rehandle it if need be. Also want a #66 440c jack and a camper style knife on the #53 or #68 frame. Spear or clip main blade, sheepsfoot blade, cap lifter and awl. Ideally not too bulky if possible (if you have a #53/54 with 4 blades then you know what I'm talking about with bulk.)

Trand, I haven't been keeping up as well as I should. Could you please point me to where the wharnie trapper is discussed?

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

I was talking about this year's forum knife. GEC was going to make this one eventually but pushed it forward due to our request.

Another vote for a TL-29 (electricians knife) and a scout (camper) knife, skip the can opener and replace it with a wharncliffe though.

Yes Trand. I agree with you that GEC is introducing more and more patterns, and that's really good.
Hopefully Queen will do the same soon.
But we have to be patient. Our wishes are way faster than their production lines

Thanks, Trand. Just took a peek---very nice, indeed.

I wish they would make another run with Big Jack's in an Ebony wood, stag, or a nice bone.
