Wish List: Knife You Want to See Made

A non-folding Random Task, more or less. But not 440V. Maybe BG42, or D2, or A2, or VG-10. OK, anything but 440V or ATS-34.

Damasteel Sebenza large with a personal design of mine on the handle and the price to be dropped down to maybe....... 100 bucks

1) Spyderco Native without the false edge, in a G-10 handle, ATS-55 or "better" steel. Flat ground! The current Native size is fine, but lots of people want a bigger version. I'd hate for the be more than 1/4" bigger, with a proportionate handle of course.

2) Benchmade Axis Lock knife with a drop point blade and no false edge or recurve. If colored handles are to be used, navy blue and black would look WAY better than the maroon and black seen on the 730. Many people claim to have had problems with MB's ATS-34. I wouldn't know, because I don't own a BM. The 720 and Pinnacle/Monolock were both highly considered, though. So to be on the safe side, maybe a different steel? I think that (dark) navy blue with black would look GREAT! Flat grinds rock! I would like to it in a large-ish blade, appx. 3.5-4".

A damascus handled Speedtech with a Talonite blade.O yeah and a abalone button.

Ray

a spyderco frame lock, titanium handle shaped like the BM stryker, a straight clip point blade like the MT socom or GT knives, tip up or down clip, and give it an talonite blade. how's that for dreaming?

A fixed blade Spyderco with a semi-drop point blade in BG-42 or 440V, Natural handles. ( Stag, leather, bone, wood, etc)

"The Hole" wouldn't be needed in a fixed blade, but just to keep up the Spyderco look.....How about the little Spyderco spider emblem lazer cut through the blade for a hole.

I would like to see a Newt Livesay Executive NRGS with BG42 blade...

LMAO @ Nick! I'd like to see that too!

For the knives I would like to have made...

I would like to see CMK come out with an OTF using the blade from one of these Bucks:

nighthk.jpg

They could call it the Night Stalker and I would buy one even if the handle was just as ugly as the one on the other one!

Another knife I REALLY want is an OTF pukko!

I think that would be TOTALLY awesome. (With a wootz damascus blade of course!)

I would like to see pen that shoots a tiny knife blade out forcefully(goes at least 25' before it hits the ground) and accurately (within 3 yards) when you press the button on it.

I have some other knives I would like to see made, but I am keeping them to myself for now.

Later,
John

P.S. How about more OTF's with charging HANDLES instead of charging LEVERS? I despise charging levers as they defeat the purpose of having an OTF in the first place.
(Being able to wrap your hand around the knife when it fires.)

I have wished this for some years: high tech puukko. Traditional shape, sheat... but blade of premium steel like Bg-42 or of talonite. I could even accept micarta handle to this puukko to get hitech blade. I could accept sheat of plastic or any synthetic to get this...

Hi Tommi,

I have seen something like what your talking about.

It was a long bladed "fighting" pukko. it had a rubber (?) handle and a Black coated blade. Came with a Kydex shealth as well. I saw it in a magazine, so I might be able to find it if your interested.

Automatic,
Thanks for answer.
I think that you are refering to sissipuukko m-95. I have that one. It's made of teflon covered carbonsteel(differentially heat treated???) but not of new premium steels. It may perform as well but...

if anyone is still reading this; i was just looking at that picture of the new kershaw/Ken Onion knife (Avalanche i guess) and the origional custom knife and I really liked that custom knife. I don't know why, but that one made my eyes go blurry and i lost my breath...

I have never bought a custom knife so i don't know if they all have that reaction on 'ya, i haven't even really considered buying one because of the infamous price.

I wish i could tell you what about it made me so 'happy', but i have no idea. It could've been the smoothness and the 'new' look. It doesn't have the damascus either, which i know some people like, but i think it looks unrefined. i'd prefer a plain shiny metal blade, maybe the satin finish.

If anyone has a knife that his that reaction on me, i'd spend probably $700 on it. (remember, this is totally subjective.)

Phil,
Check out Keith Coleman's web page @ Colemanmade.com. He has some great small liner-locks that start at around $225 and with a damascus blade by either Devin Thomas or Mike Norris (gotta love that 420V core!) shouldn't run you more than $300. I have a 3" Banshee in BG-42 ordered with mokume bolsters and I can't wait! Blade magazine just ran an article on tactical folder makers and considers Keith a second tier maker. He is great to deal with and current waiting time is approx. 5 months. Give him a look!

Unocide, wait until you pick up a knife that you can't put down with a pricetag that is a months salary. Now that is a shock.
