Wish List: Knife You Want to See Made

Scaled down Spyderco Military with better blade to handle ratio and handle options.

OK, an Axis-Locking, Spydie-hole opening REKAT carnivore with a Talonite blade. The handle wouldn't be so long (to bring the ratio down a bit) and the curves would be a bit more subdued on the back. Titanium bolsters and some sort of stabilized burl scales would round it out.

No way that will ever happen, but it's fun to imagine. :-)

Ghecko, contact Mr. Simonich. The Rolling lock is similar enough to the Axis to not be a major problem for most users; he makes customized Talonite Carnivores, and can probably license the Spyder Hole for the nominal fee of $50.00.

James,

Thanks. I almost said "just like the ones that Mr. Simonich has done."

I thought his Talonite customs were a limited run though, maybe I was wrong.

Not sure the bolsters can be done with the rolling lock's release so far back on the handle. And unless Mr. Simonich smooths up the action I'm gonna stick to my original wish of an Axis-Lock. Talk about smooth...

Anyway, it's just a wish. I can't shell out the $500 plus (I'm guessing) that it'd take to make this knife (with a rolling lock) a reality.

Jon, I believe you are right about the limited run. You did remind me to drop a line to Rob about it, I am sure mine is a ways off, but Gary's is soooo nice it really leaves the production versions behind.

The Axis lock is much smoother, and you are right, getting three companies designs combined into one custom knife would not be an easy task. But never give up hope

Gary, I am pretty sure we can have James Mattis on our side with the CRK Warncliffe. Now all we need is 397 more, and we can get a limited run like the NICA Tantos

James,

Make that 396! If I can't have my rekat-talonite-benchmade-spyderco collaboration I suppose a wharncliffe small sebenza will do.

Make it 395 James!

Sounds great!

But let's leave the 'NICA'-style decorations out.

For what it's worth, the wharncliffe 'benza idea has come up before. I know I suggested it on the CRK forum months ago and I think someone else did as well. Sure would like to see this happen, but a handful of buyers isn't enough to change their minds (and rightfully so)...
