Woe is me- Happy Ending!

Wow Paul, that is a fantastic offer but before I say yes give me another day to look around outside. I really haven't been able to do so yet because we had 6 inches of snow a week ago and it's just now melted. I don't have high hopes because I walk the dog in a wooded area and the knife is brown. Besides, snow vs. carbon steel...but let me glance around. Man, you are a true mensch and a knife hero. Thanks so much again for the offer!
You are more than welcome, continue your search once the weather clears and if still no knife just shoot me a pm with shipping info and mail bound it will be:thumbsup:

Said it here before, lost a heavy custom frame folder in my den recliner for over a year. There's a chance it could still show up. If it doesn't, don't dwell on it. Life is too short.

Metal detector might locate what you cannot easily see. Obviously you don't want to buy one, but many people who have them are only too happy to get to use them for something truly practical.

Very true about not dwelling. But man that little knife sure captivated me for some reason. Maybe it's a message to not get so hung up on the details.

I do have access to one. Great suggestion! Thanks to everyone for the kind words. It is just a knife but we're fanatics so there's no "just a knife" for many of us!

Sorry man, it hapohap and always sucks.

A month or so a go I was at a bowling alley for a baby thing my cousin was having and I lost a knife. It was the Vic Classic with the yellow scales from my grandfather's classic.
I looked everywhere but figured someone must've picked it up and I was heartbroken to have lost this irriplaceable knife.
It turns out it had fallen in to the side pocket of his bowling bag I was using.
There I found the knife and a pad with notes he took during his last league game.

I really hope your knife turns up, I'm sure it's somewhere you're not thinking of like in a coat pocket...ect.

Get another one just like it and it will show right up!:)--KV
This method was what my dad often used. Often he would find the lost tool when he went to put up the replacement "in an easier to find place than where I put the last one...." I miss him, he was what they used to call "quite a character."

I lost my beloved Buck 303 in the interior of my couch for over two years. It had fallen from my pocket when I dozed off after giving my youngest a bottle right after she arrived. Found it while digging out one of her toys when she was a toddler. It had bounced into a little ledge formed by part of the frame.

Very big of you Paul:thumbsup: I lost a cheapo Frost mini-flipper in my swim trunks when I went swimming off the beach of my friend's place on Lake Michigan. He found it next spring washed up on the beach. Crazy.

If that turned up again I believe there's hope for you. The fact that yours was lost away from civilization is a plus in a way... less likely it was picked up and carried off. Best o luck finding closure:thumbsup::thumbsup:

So sorry! I still dream of my lost Burnside : (

Paul you are a truly decent man. Very kind if you : )

Good on you Paul.
Very porchitacious gesture:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Still hoping it shows up though.

So I began the day carrying a vintage Case heavy jack but will end it carrying this-

My 78 was "located" by my eight year old daughter who apparently found it under her bed...a place I looked several times. "It was just sitting there," she proclaims. Well, regardless of the dubious nature of her discovery, I am just happy to have it back in pocket. It's a Good Friday indeed!

I'd like to thank everyone for the kind thoughts, good stories, and easing my pain. That's why I love The Porch! And a special shout out to paulhilborn paulhilborn for the incredibly generous offer. Keep that new knife for a future poor soul with a mischievous child :)
